How can we watch GT300 races online from the US?

I speak to one of the drivers, Tetsuya Yamano, from time to time. He's doing pretty well in Super GT but couldn't finish the suzuka 1000km recently. You guys can check out SubaruOnTube's channel for some highlights from the races. http://www.youtube.com/user/SUBARUOnTube

They recently placed 6th at Fuji (their highest in this race season) using ballsy Ayrton Senna-like tactics. The battle commences at 7:00 with an epic dogfight shortly thereafter:

Interesting the car has a Bilstein sticker on it and previous versions I saw pictures of used the Bilstein MDS shocks but at least in this instance they are using Sachs shocks.

I'd like to know how much of that car is still BRZ. From the looks, it's only be the bare chassis, maybe the engine block & engine mounting locations. I'd be more interested in watching a stripped out & caged BRZ with a tuned/unrestricted/remapped stock engine on coilovers and race brakes like they ran at the Nurbugring before release.

It only puts out about 300HP. Its made for torque and g's not top speed.

The only thing that is required in JGTC 300 and 500 classes is that from a side silhouette it must resemble the original car and be close to 300/500hp not to exceed.
This is basically the exact same car as the Legacy and STi that were run previously for Subaru in the GT300 class. This car is more "correct" in the fact it started life as RWD. The others of course are AWD and were converted to RWD for JGTC. Quote:

Yep, some of the cars pre-08 like the Cusco version. But even then the RWD cars dominated.

A lot of endurance racing sanctioning bodies mandate AC in the cars as a safety measure. ALMS does as well as WEC

Yea those GT300 cars are pretty far from the original car they're "based" upon. Look at the GT300 CR-Z... starts out as a strut/torsion beam FWD hybrid and ends up as a monster double-wishbone all around RWD hybrid lol.
The GT300 BRZ doesn't even seem to use the BRZ's chassis as the suspension is completely different with pushrod double wishbones all around. I'd say the engine and the "shape" are the only things that resemble the original BRZ... |
