checked around and didn't find them in stock anywhere. Had BuyWheelsToday.com ship them direct from Enkei. Enkei had only 8 available when I ordered my set last week. Ordered on Saturday and they were at my house on Tuesday.

stock tires will fit just like on the stock wheels. You will probably want to use hub rings to help center the wheels on the hub - OD 75mm to ID 56.1mm. I ordered a set of 4 off of ebay for $8 with free shipping. Ordered on Tuesday and they arrived today.

The wheels came with valve stems but I'm planning on using the TPMS from the stock wheels. Also came with center caps.

Enkei RPF1 Type II 17X7 ET48 Gunmetal (just mounted)

16.2lbs. Stock tires and lugs. Not sure I'm liking the center caps. I'll have to try it without them and see. Center caps  or  ?

Looks good!!!

Those do look badass, nice going with the rims.

Asterisked Accolade 09-17-2012 11:21 PM

A lot of people around here going with black wheels. It looks good, but i'm curious how they'd look in regular silver.

quik1987 09-18-2012 12:34 AM

What the biggest size these are available in?

I tend to like constrast. If my car was a dark color I would have gone with silver. Silver on silver would be a little too much silver for me.

MVJ1975 09-18-2012 09:06 AM

Awesome! They look as good as I thought they would.

I'd keep the center caps.

You're looking at it. 17x7 is the biggest they make in the Type IIs.

Stock tires

I was thinking about going with something like this. It seems silly to throw away the new tires that come on the car, or try to sell them of eBay which is a big hassle. Instead you have put the original stock tires on the new wheels, right?

This looks great. But can you please post some pics showing the width of the tires in this config?

So with this setup, you only have to pay for the wheels, which I am assuming is $1100. Add mount/balancing, and you're done, right?

I would however, go with a ProKit to lower the car by 1". I understand this might cost $250 for the springs and $350 for labor.

So after everything is done, I would then sell the original rims for $150 each. This exercise would then result in a nice upgrade without too much cost or waste.

I don't really like the center caps in your pics, as they don't match well. What are the options with this wheel?

Nice posting! You've made a wise choice, I think.

yup, going to use them up learning to really drive this car in autocross before buying stickier performance tires

will do. They are exactly same size, width and offset as stock so will look the same

$51.99 total to mount and balance. Make sure the shop has a touchless setup or at least plastic clamps so as not to scratch the wheels. Most shops have machines with metal clamps they will scratch your painted/coated wheels.

no lowering for me - autocross stock (RTR) class

I either leave them or remove them. I'll probably remove them tomorrow and see how I like it. I don't know of any other options.

I also bought hub rings for the wheels off of ebay for $9 which included shipping. OD75mm/ID56.1mm

TXFRS 09-19-2012 11:40 AM

Nice.

Aside from having the fastest color, have you noticed a performance difference with the lighter wheels?

absolutely, totally subjective but feels a bit more agile, lighter, like it rolls easier. Turning feels easier and smoother.

HOWEVER, I also had OEM crash bolts installed and a mild 'performance' alignment done so no telling how much the new lighter wheels are contributing to that versus the alignment.

The stock front and rear toe settings were out of spec anyway. From what I've been reading that's not uncommon in these vehicles. Everyone should probably go have their alignment checked. Easy handling improvement and extend the life of your tires.

But the Enkei RPF1 Type IIs are heavier than the original RPF1.

yes, by about a pound or so. Not sweating it. They are also available in 17x7 now. RPF1 17x7 are not available until December. :burnrubber:

had my order in for the RPF1's but when I found out they pushed availability back to December I cancelled the order and went for the Type II instead.

ayau 09-23-2012 09:09 PM

looks like good alternatives to the original RPF1 for scca stock class.

i think i'd try without the center caps.

I gave it a try, took the center caps off and...they are staying on. I don't especially like the looks of the center caps but I also don't like seeing the exposed nut and stuff under there.

When I was checking around nobody I contacted had these in stock. I ended up placing my order with an Enkei dealer who had them drop shipped direct from Enkei USA. Make sure they check availability with Enkei USA first. When I ordered mine they only had a few in stock.

I have been looking for rims quite thoroughly for the past month. These are probably my favorite looking wheel. Good choice! Also, I would like to add you chose a 17x7 which will save 16 lbs. of unsprung weight. I love the way this car handles from the dealer, and the size you chose won't interrupt that balance. The car will be faster now and better looking. That is what I am all about. enjoy

Looks way better than stock rims!
