Picked Up A Set of KW V3s

Just Picked these up :) Installing them sometime this week and I plan to provide some input on the adjustability, settings etc. plan to take it to the track soon as well to compare vs stock :bellyroll: cant wait!

UPDATE 10/2/2012 Just installed the coils this past weekend...totally worth the hours put in! but need to go a bit lower ;)

so far im loving the kw's, handling feels much much better...feels like im more in control even though I can still feel the tail wanting to slide out a little, much easier to correct. Car definitely feels planted and gives me more confidence in cornering. I feel like there is so much more to these struts but all I need are some stickier tires! Can't wait to try these babies at the track! Ride comfort somewhat similar to stock, still need to mess around with settings but to be honest, it is only a BIT more rough but no where near unbearable or much noticeably uncomfortable ( you could always adjust it anyways) . I'd highly recommend these for those who want DD comfort with performance. ONTO THE PICS!

Very nice! Congrats! Look forward to seeing your feedback.

Please let us all know what you like about them. I'm still on the fence as to what the best option wil be for me.

empower-auto 09-21-2012 01:34 PM

No upper plates at all with KW?

Racecomp Engineering 09-21-2012 02:01 PM

No, you reuse stock or get an aftermarket set of camber plates.

Most european coilovers are designed this way.

Any particular camber plates we should get with kw? I'm debating with this as well or get something cheaper like megan. I would only go autocross/track once it twice a year. Are the ride that much better or is it simply quality of the coilovers? Kw is lifetime warranty top I believe.

Let us know how you like it.

If you get something cheaper go with BC or Fortune Auto

If you're lookin for a cheaper option but a double duty
Track/street setup i'd say fortune autos are good for the money. I was going
To get fortune autos until i got a deal for these
From a private seller for less than fortune autos. I beleive kw has lifetime
But to rebuild the shocks etc cost a small amount each one.

Love the KW V3's. Congrats! Can't wait to get your thoughts on them.

skitso 09-21-2012 06:15 PM

i am thinking about those, can't wait for the feedback.

ModBargains 09-21-2012 09:20 PM

Great choice on coilovers! And yes, the KWs come with a lifetime warranty if they are purchased through an authorized dealer.

Best choice going with the KW's. You will love how these ride. We just put a set on our Evo X! :) Enjoy!

You're going to love them. I've had no regrets with mine.

deedz 09-28-2012 02:12 PM

Installing today! hopefully i have enough time
To finish since ill be doing it myself, Shouldnt be too difficult :iono:

cnk 09-28-2012 02:20 PM

Should only take 4-5 hours if you're doing it yourself. Although the first time I swapped out coilovers, it took me like 8 hours, but I was going really slow and it was on my WRX where I had to take out the rear seats.

Just remember to jack up the entire front end or rear end so that you're not loading the sway bar. I find it easier to jack up one end, remove the stock coils, then install the new ones.

Luke.Cariveau 09-28-2012 02:49 PM

Yea, It only took about 5 hours for me. But we adjusted the ride height about 6 times to get it perfect =)

Post up pics!

I can't believe you got these cheaper than the fortune's talk about the deal of a lifetime.

swift996 09-30-2012 02:22 AM

Would love to hear the feedback. I'm running them on my M3 and plan to follow when I pick up a BRZ shortly.

deedz 09-30-2012 04:30 AM

Just finished installing! took me a bit longer than expected but man was it worth it. Love the smaller wheel gap and cant wait to throw some te 37s on there!

as for feedback so far from a quick little spin, the car feels goooood, corners and turns feel solid and definitely makes me more confident. Took a turn really fast and tail came out just a little but easily correctable, on stock suspension I probably would have spun out. Feel wise, seems much smoother and less bumpy than stock but maybe thats cause im too in love?

Will keep you guys updated!

Nope not yet! I think the fronts should be ok with camber adjustment for now but for the rears im most likely going to get control arms sooner or later. Just waitin on the wheels to see how they fit.

ModBargains 10-03-2012 10:26 PM

OP, what wheels did you end up going with?
