Hello everyone,

I would like to issue an apology to all members of this forum for this thread:

It was crass, crude, and shameless. Opinions are opinions, but they should be told to others in a civilized and non-personal manner, which I clearly failed to do. Instead, I chose to make the argument personal and offensive. So if I offended anyone who drives an automatic FR-S or if I offended anyone on this forum, period, I am sorry. It was not my intention, my intention was simply discussion over the topic of manual vs. automatic transmissions.

Hope you guys forgive me, especially @Guff.

I did read that thread and shook my head more than a few times. Like you said, opinions are fine until they become social weapons aimed at other people.

Kudos to you for taking the mature step.
(I personally don't want the auto either, but fully understand the reasons why some do). I'd still like to drive one at some point to feel the difference.

I read the thread and thought it was ridiculous. Though, I give props and respect for swallowing your pride and making an apology. Not everybody is willing to that.

Only thing in that thread I can understand is the fact that whenever I search for one, dealers only have ATs left and it sucks constantly searching and only finding an auto one when you are set on a manual. Oh well

I haven't had much dealing with you Guff, but from what I've seen I get the feeling you're a pretty cool guy.

I don't see why you're apologizing.. Your musings were pretty standard rants, I thought. And I kind of agree with you sentiment. Don't be so hard on yourself. Your rants were good!

I disagreed with you, but you went up about a million notches in my book for apologizing to those you felt you offended. My god, the internet in general (and car forums especially) have become such cesspools of crass, arrogant opinionators (opinionistas? opinors? ...optimus primas?) that some days I can't even stomach logging on.

Well I have to say I agree that all sports cars should be manual, but I don't go around crapping on everybody who bought an auto... You gotta keep that 'ish to yourself! Very big of you to apologize, though. Too bad more people don't do the same.
