Exhaust

Hey guys,

I am tossing up between a NAMELESS axle-back exhaust and a FUJITSUBO cat-back exhaust. Which of the two do you think is better value for money? The NAMELESS exhaust is only $550, while the FUJITSUBO is $1850. I know the FUJITSUBO is made in Japan, but is it really worth 3x the price? Also, I know the FUJITSUBO will give a small power gain, whereas the NAMELESS won't.

Also, I know you can generally get away with a cat-back exhaust, but will an axle-back exhaust run into issues with warranty?

:respekt:

where can you buy nameless for $550???

thanks.

personally JDM stuffs are mostly well made but pretty over priced.

Hey man,

On the Nameless Peformance website in the US. Obviously there will be import tax and shipping on that, but still $1000 or whatever is still pretty good.

70NYD 09-11-2012 03:21 AM

Ther shouldn't be import tax if it's under 1000 shipped (unless something changed recently)
Also wrt warranty, if a cat back won't affect it, a axle back shouldn't at all then.
How are you sure that the NAMELESS won't give any improvements? If not, is it at least lighter than stock? If not then what is the point? Sound?

Edit
Just had a look at their site and the exhaust in question
Seems awesome an a VERY good deal!

under $1000 should be no duty so just item + shipping.

another option Perrin catback is $1000 from Car Mods Australia locally.

Do you think the Perrin unit is a decent piece?

Cheers man! How much did you pay for a cat-back?

Do you think headers and a high-flow cat will help deepen the tone?

No idea =/ Can't find any info, that link seems to be a direct link too as it's not on their youtube channel I keep playing it over and over! :mad0259:

$999.95. same price for with/without resonator. their shipping cost is pretty good too.

they don't have stock yet. it's being sea freight at the moment.

i am planning to get their over pipe and front pipe when they are available. maybe their intake and tune too if i decide to stick to NA.

Rusty86 09-11-2012 03:52 AM

Out of all the exhausts I've seen and heard the legamax premium HKS exhaust is my pick. http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=12187

Video in the above thread. Sound is exactly what I'm looking for.

^ what Nardi said: waiting for the resonated version in brushed finish. Having read Perrin's development threads, they seem to have a handle on the FA20, and their full disclosure on findings is very appreciated!

the boxer sound is off the UEL header. if they run to the stock over pipe then it doesn't matter what cat back you get now.

this is what i want too.

i think having the resonator gives me more flexiblity with header/front pipe selection in the future.

MickeyB 09-11-2012 04:05 AM

Exactly my thinking! Just looking to have a mildly modified car with supporting mods for potential supercharging: I hate doing things twice...

RAN94A 09-11-2012 04:31 AM

go for a custom exhaust shop mandrel bent??

Should cost around 600-800 bucks for a catback and you can customise however loud/quiet you want the sound, what tips you want.. how high/low the exhaust sits..

MickeyB 09-11-2012 04:43 AM

Can't be bothered with the development hassles these days: must be getting old! I'm pretty time-poor, and the potential issues regarding droning, noise issues etc just don't appeal. If I can get a well-reviewed, proven kit that fits first time, I'm more than happy to pay the $1k asking price.

Just my opinion.
