FR-S wait time?
How long did you guys wait for your FR-S before it arrived? I was made to pay a deposit of $500 to be put on a wait list and was told around 2 months wait time. It's been a little over 2 months now and I just called in and was told it will probably be another 2 months x_X.
What color and transmission option did you guys put and how long did you wait? I requested a manual whiteout. |
That sounds frustrating... I just called a few dealers(3 to be exact) and one happened to have one that met my preferences headed their way. From the time I called the dealer, it took 5 days before I drove it off the lot. The other two dealers I called were on backorder for at least a few weeks, so I got very lucky, obviously.

I waited about a month. Raven MT.
|
i waited 3 weeks after ordering and never put 500 down... whiteout frs mt..
|
5 weeks firestorm MT
|
Still waiting, 3 months ago put 2500 down too. Whiteout MT audio upgrade. Was told 6-8 weeks. Approaching 14 weeks, no vin.
Dealer has no info or updates. Scion canada doing as good a job as they can keeping everyone updated, by not knowing themselves. |
I put a $500 pre-order for an Ultramarine MT last week. Dealer said 2 months.
|
I think I waited about a month for my Whiteout AT FRS. The dealership was slated to get it in and no one had claimed it, so I reserved it with $1000 (fully refundable if I changed my mind once the car arrived). It was supposed to take 3 weeks but the port date kept getting pushed back.
I'm still really grateful I waited A month instead of MONTHS!! |

Had to wait 2 months and 2 weeks. |
About two weeks ago I called a dealer in a nearby town and told him I was looking for a firestorm, manual transmission. He told me there was one coming around 9-17 that no one had claimed yet. I put down my credit card deposit and it's not that far away.
|
None. I called a few dealerships in my area one day and found one in the color I wanted.
|
Regardless of what your dealer is telling you, Toyota/Scion is not taking any "sold orders" on the FR-S. That means the dealers have to wait until they are allocated an FR-S, and if it's not the color/transmission you want, they have to try to trade it with another dealer before it hits the port. Allocations are based of sales/history of dealership, so if you have a smaller dealer, you may not get one for a while...
My first dealer had me wait for 2 months before I got fed up (because they originally told me they could just place the order with Scion). I started looking around and ended up driving 9 hours to pick up the color I wanted. I suggest you start looking around at other dealers until you find what you are looking for, unless you don't mind waiting. |

I was on the wait list for June 1st (Ultramarine) and they said it would be out the boat on the 21st.... a few days later, they called me saying that one guy didnt get approve by the bank =D and i was next so i got it on June 9th ..... thank u random guy! I gave $2000 in advanced and my Ultramarine was waiting for me at the dealership with a huge sign saying "SOLD"-do not touch.... best day ever !!!!!! I think you should put more money .... and cross ur fingers..... cuz the whiteout FR-S its too hard to get ... high in demand ... Good Luck! |
Australia = 2 years....
Ordered june, expecting mine around Nov, Jan |
6 weeks from when I placed my order. I was told my car was ordered and it sure seemed to be true. I was able to get updates when it went into production and was assigned a vin.
It sure seemed like a real order process not just waiting for a Whiteout 6MT with no options to show up. |
A little over a month.
|
2 days, I cancelled my order for a 2013 mustang gt and bought this when it was freed up
|
hmm ic, i called around and it seems dealers have them in stock just that its ridiculously hard to get the 6mt whiteout. im just disappointed the dealer told me 2 months and now its going to be over 4 months.. They did say if i changed my order to any other color though i would have priority. One dealer I called even said they have around 100 people on list for the white 6MT.
|
You need to live in Pittsburgh. Just walked in and bought it.

But yeah Whiteout is the hottest color right now... |
2 weeks
|
I ordered a week or so ago and was told 2 months directly through toyota, not the dealership. At first I cared, but really if it takes 6 months, that is JUST FINE with me.
Whiteout Manual. |

About ten years.

It took me 2 weeks. I helped the dealer by finding cars on the lots of dealers within 500 miles using Cars.com. He contacted them and finally got one to send one to my dealership.
Many of them wouldn't give them up though, and it may be tougher to get them to do so now. |
Im gunna go test drive one on sat in moreno valley cali. at moss bros toyota. they said they had some... i wont know thats true till i get there. As i am not looking to buy one right now and just test drive one i hope they do cuz if not im waisting my time.
p.s. im pretty excited i have sat in one and seen a few on the road but i havent driven one yet. i gotta take care of some finance shiz before i can buy a new car. but when i do i want this one |
