Looks great. Definetly doing that to my DGM.

How did you do it?

Yruyur 09-09-2012 03:04 PM

What product did you use? Have you used it before? What will utilize look like 20k miles later? Thinking of doing this myself.

I used VHT Brake Caliper Paint (Red), then I finished them with VHT (Clear), baked them in the oven for the paint to settle in. I have used it before, it should last!

I dislike all beauty 'mods' but this one looks appealing. Imo, stock silver is a horrible match with red exterior.

Did you paint over stock paint or over the bare metal?

Thanks!

Thank you! It was over the bare metal, I re-coated the red a couple times after it dried just to insure I got everything

Mended 09-13-2012 10:46 AM

How long and at what temp did you bake them?

Jason952 09-13-2012 12:18 PM

where did those center caps come from?

Ayaz2589 09-13-2012 12:27 PM

This might be off topic, but how much did you pay for the wing?

Looks great man bad ass.

1. How many coats of base and clear did you use. What temp and how long did you bake them?

2. Can anyone point me in the direction of drilled and slotted rotors for the FRS. I would like to buy them when I have the calipers off and are painting them.

I searched the web but couldnt find any but I have seen pics on the forum with members who have them on there cars. Also do they make caliper covers yet. I know they make them for my mustang I was hoping or thinking of buying them if the fitment is correct and repainting them as it looks like its a big break kit?

Thanks
Dan

G2 caliper paint was used. It was brush on so the calipers just stay in place on the car. No baking or clear coat needed. Cost about 38 bucks for enough for all 4. 5 out of 5 rating on amazon for the stuff. They look great.

The wing came from Subaru . 460.00 pre painted.

The caliper paint is VHT 2 cans red / one clear . Baked @ 200 for 1 hour. The calipers were totaly removed and disassembled , painted , then re-assembled , system bleed.

The center cap decals were made by local graphics company as a favor for me.

No one makes caliper covers yet like the ones you see for Mustangs .
