Big Country Labs FRS/BRZ wing released

I know all of you will hate this but that's OK.

They make wings for some of the top drift cars in the states and all over the world. Basically they make rad shit and do burn outs.

Luckily these aren't just wimpy garbage wings you get on eBay, construction is top notch.

Draco-REX 09-08-2012 03:30 PM

Fixed your typo.

Personally I didn't notice it doesn't mount to the trunk. I'm not sure if I want to drill holes in my quarter panels

xwd 09-08-2012 04:41 PM

On a race car great on a street car...no

was385 09-08-2012 05:02 PM

Interesting...

j.t. 09-08-2012 08:34 PM

you might as well go buy a super bird if your gona put that on your car.

DaJo 09-08-2012 08:38 PM

That's bigger than the car itself... :bellyroll:

It's a Bird...It's a Plane...It's Superman... IT'S an FR-S! ... Wait... WHAT?!

track_warrior 09-08-2012 08:44 PM

Wing mounts are to high and bulky. The wing also seems to sit way outside of the car. Im waiting on APR.

Bomb3r 09-08-2012 09:57 PM

Baller Wings! wow....

gmookher 09-08-2012 10:19 PM

I'm sorry, but where are you going with this stuff? No really, any new development updates?

Rurounimidnight 09-09-2012 02:46 PM

BCL is legit!

Turbowned 09-10-2012 10:16 AM

Guys, it's a race part; it's for function, not form. Obviously you're a derptard if you put this on your street-driven car.

jadewbj 09-10-2012 11:06 AM

Its a wee bit big. Overcompensating?

VSGTS14 09-10-2012 11:08 AM

it looks taller than the roof line.

Blue86 09-10-2012 11:43 AM

Not big enough :-)

TuxedoCartman 09-10-2012 02:23 PM

I absolutely WUB big, goofy wings on sports cars... right up to the point where they start losing functionality, and become obscene overcompensation gestures.

SARD, Voltex, and even APR offer functionality as well as good looks; this Big Country Labs wing looks like the "garbage Ebay wing" it claims not to be. I mean, a whopping three adjustment angles? Not to mention the over-the-top (literally) height...

I do love the paint scheme on that FC.

epson1 09-10-2012 02:50 PM

wings....not paint scheme.

I stand by my opinion: THAT particular wing looks like shit. Looks cheap. Pointing out the paint-job was a tactful way of sidestepping your confrontational attitude regarding my opinion. :slap:

VSGTS14 09-10-2012 03:41 PM

those are drift cars, they aren't seeing 140mph. if it's above the roof line, it's not helping.
apr, voltex, varis all send theirs in wind tunnels for track proven worthiness.

NemeGuero 09-10-2012 05:01 PM

BCL <3

Most of the FR-S community will not see 140mph on a regular basis.

Most manufacturers won't have the budget to wind tunnel test every wing design and application they advertise...even the companies you mentioned.
Also - for aerodynamics.... having high mounted wing will provide more down force then low mounted wings...

Anyhow, BCL is just putting out there another option for the FR-S community... so let's show some love for doing so.
;)

I don't think our cars would do 140mph anyways. Yes they're drift cars. My BRZ is also a drift car. So its ok.

Stock BRZ, he hits 147 at around 5:03.

FreedE 09-10-2012 11:36 PM

These guys actually do a lot of testing on their wings.

Great company, awesome guys, great product.

Not for everyone. But nothing is.

VSGTS14 09-11-2012 09:02 AM

it's def a nice wing. i still feel it's too big :( but if it works, then who cares. obnoxious always wins :)

touge factory, you should make some badass RPF1's and run a group buy on them...kinda of like those nt03m's you guys did with that titanium burnt look logo...i LOVE them. 17x9 rpf1!

We did the Enkei RPF1 18x9.5 +38 5x100 in SBC 2 years ago.
We're thinking about it....

VSGTS14 09-11-2012 02:36 PM

make them black this time! :)

SkullWorks 09-11-2012 02:43 PM

why did this perfectly respectable forum just get turned into Zilvia?

turns out, if you don't need a wing this big don't look at a wing this big!!! You sound like kids standing in front of a condom machine arguing about "there's no way anybody needs a magnum, i mean really who's packing that much meat"

turns out the joke is on you kids, alot of people bought this car to go to the track, and guess what, the slower your top speed the more surface area is required for a desired amount of downforce, also please try to remember there are atleast a few cars out and about with 400+ hp...just because you arern't serious doesn't mean the next guy isn't.

the wing is higher and wider than the body for a reason...if you don't understand why then you don't understand the topic at hand and should be learning, reading books, not spreading misunderstandings....

ill roller 09-11-2012 02:52 PM

I would buy this solely because it looks cool... But there's no aero cool enough to compliment this fine aerodynamic trinket.

Superhatch 09-11-2012 03:17 PM

Perhaps some better shots of the wing on the car would convince people? On a lowered car with aftermarket wheels on a track, or in a photogenic area would do wonders for PR vs. two over-saturated shots in a random parking lot where the wing is just being held in place. That is what turns me off the most...not the wing itself. If people don't know who you guys are, it looks really amateur.
