What do YOU want?
We are having an FRS stay with us for about a week this month (will arrive in a few weeks) and we want to know what YOU would like to see us create for the interior.
We already have a vehicle specific enclosure for a 10" subwoofer and already plan on casting the mold for an 8" enclosure as well. We want to know what else the FRS/BRZ community is interested in for the audio system and interior. If there is enough interest in certain items, we will do our best to research and create something the week that we have the FRS here. |
How about a box for a single sub that you can mount an amp to with ability to quickly remove for track events? Some kind of quick release system, preferably tool-less
|
Here's your power and ground quick disconnect.
http://www.delcity.net/store/Dual-Po...ousings/p_1043 As for mounting the amp, that would depend on the footprint of the amp. My JL A6450 is about 18 inches long, a similar power Alpine PDX-5 is only about 10.5 inches. If they could source a DC plate amp it might work. |

http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=7373 I'll have to work on getting the pictures up on our website. Our Facebook is updated daily and we have quite a following, so that's where most of the pictures go. |

How about a custom insulation kit? :)
|
Possibly a dual or single sub enclosure that fits in the spare tire area?
|
In keeping with @kmbkk's idea, an amp rack for under the rear parcell shelf might be a good product to. Please keep in mind I haven't looked to see if there's enough room.
I made my other suggestion in a previous thread, but I'll repeat it here just in case. I'd like a box to house a 12 in the trunk. |
Radio bezel to fit double DIN HU's...
|
Molded gauge pod...somewhere. 2-3 gauges. 52mm.
|
Audio-wise, maybe some small tweeter pods that mount/clip to the OEM a-pillars in various diameters, maybe 1.0", and 1.25, and 1.5" ?... Something small to not obstruct view, but simple and clean without looking bulky.
An enclosure or something to squeeze some 8" woofers where the rear speakers live... One for each side. THAT would be killer. Even if the interior panel needs to be modified, I think it would sell. Non-audio-wise... A single-din radio trim plate with 2-3 gauge pod fittings. |

Can you create a perfectly sized replacement/upgraded touch screen dvd/nav/cd headunit (same as OEM Scion Headunit)?!?!?! i wish lol
|
I think a spare tire sub box would go over well.

I'll echo the request for an 8" enclosure with an area where a small (approx 12"x12") D-class amp could attach. Similar to the OEM Audio Plus setup, bit with the amp visible; for ease of wiring and setup.

Does anybody know the depth behind the rear side panels? |

Here's a list from sonic: http://www.sonicelectronix.com/cat_f...low-mount.html Most of the specs show cutouts of about 7 1/4, mounting depth less than 3", and sealed enclosure between 0.15-0.6 cu ft. (the kicker CVT8(X) is deeper and needs a larger volume, possibly too much). I personally like the look of the Pioneer TS-SW84, reviews seem very positive. I envision a small bladder shaped box (maybe squared edges for ease of fabrication), about 1/4 cu ft total. Possibly adjustable mounting tabs to ensure good fitment to hard points. Maybe a foam backer pad if it touches the outer skin, and a few tiles of CLD for vibe damping. This bladder has a cutout for an 8" sub, (or a specific one or two models are preselected and sold with the kit to guarantee fit). Use a template to mark the interior panel, cut out the marked 8" hole (or sell a pre-cut panel with the kit). A new grille mounts to the surface of the interior panel and secures to the enclosure, sandwiching the interior panel to make a more solid fit. Getting the shape to fit cleanly against the backside of the interior panel would be the toughest part to design. I's be glad to give some ideas on how I'd approach fabrication. (Assuming it will fit, that is)... |
We have the FRS here for the week. :D
Gauge pods and 8" subwoofer enclosure for the trunk seem to be the most popular demands. |
It's great to see vendors being so interactive.

And this |
The 8" sub boxes for replacing the rear speakers would be amazing. also a dash pod for speakers to fit properly. gauges would be a great thing aswell
|
Also, videos and pictures of progress would be nice:)
|
If you want 8s in the rear speaker locations, go to a local shop you trust. It could be done, but its not going to be easy or cheap. And I highly doubt that someone will make a mail order kit.
