Picked up my Asphalt AT today!
 

After cruising around these forums for months and watching all of the "got mine" threads come and go, i finally broke down and bought one! Cant wait! :burnrubber:

Nope, I had ZERO intention of getting an automatic. Especially after they lied to me to get me out there. I wound up getting my Asphalt MT from Team Toyota in Lithia Springs.

I called my dealer and they said they had a WHITEOUT(knowing that white is really popular). I asked them to check twice and hold it for me. I drove up 45 mins with my wife thinking there's no way they have it. But they did! Got it literally off the transport truck.

WOW! I am so sorry to hear that! I had just the opposite experience. I called about the Asphalt that was advertised and they told me it was still on the lot. Told them i wanted it and to hold it for me. Stopped in the following day and did a market value on my trade. I didn't finance through them (went with PenFed) so the only thing they had work for was assessing the trade. I signed the papers the following day and am just waiting for PenFed to deliver the check which should be today. Never put down a security deposit...

I was torn between ultramarine and asphalt until i saw them both in person. I really liked the way light "plays" with the ultramarine where the brightness of the blue increases, decreases based on ambient conditions. Really makes the lines stand out. Then i saw the asphalt over in Decatur, AL... and that's all it took. Pictures don't seem to do it justice (but i am sure i will post some anyway!). I've been tracking Asphalt AT's ever since.

Yeah i was im the same boat. Ordered ultramarine then saw asphalt and fell in love. Dont get me wrong ultramarine is nice, but asphalt was nicer :D

Well.... Long story short... I FINALLY picked up my new, new Asphalt FRS today and love it! :w00t: I ended up not taking delivery of my original choice as it threw a CEL while the salesman went to fill it up with gas! Had the papers all signed and was ready to go when the service manager came in and broke the news to me. I ended up buying a near identical car from another dealer, this one without Bespoke, but with an extended warranty. I still have to give the guys at Stone Mountain Toyota props, though. They could have reset the CEL and let me get 25 miles down the road to force delivery acceptance. Instead, they gave me my money back.

Anyway, very happy to be an owner! Ended up buying it at Heyward Allen Toyota in Athens GA and it looks gorgeous. Now i just need to find a detailer in Atlanta that does Opti Coat...

If you do not want the extended warraty read your papers. Sometimes you are allowed to cancel the warranty contract, within a certain number of days of purchase, and receive a full refund.

I wanted the warranty thrown in as part of the deal, given how many CEL problems we have seen on these cars and the one i nearly bought had it. I didn't want to have one of those 60,001 mile "sorry, but there's no TSB and no recall so you are SOL" conversations with the dealer.

Kinda wish i had got Asphalt i had no idea there would be so many Whiteouts but my last three cars were all dark grey it was time for a change.

Late congrats! I saw an asphalt the other day at a dealer, great color. I almost got mine in that color as a homage to my dark gray 626, but hot lava was just too tempting.

Congrats man, asphalt is a great color. I got the MT as well :). Its a load of fun to drive
