Getting confuse: Red BRZ vs Red FR-S
 

Hi guys. I got pretty confuse with my decision. Which one do you think is much better, a red BRZ or FR-S?

Why does the color matter if you are asking which car is better?

The color / paint code is the same regardless of subaru/toyota.

What's your budget first and foremost. What can you comfortably afford? And if you can afford both. Do you like amenities like HIDs, NAVI, Leather/Alcantara, Heated Seats, DUAL HVAC, or do you prefer simplicity above all else? Just drive.

Mostly just preference and a small bit of goodies that the BRZ offers like stated above.

I could live without ALL of those options so I went FR-S.

The FR-S also has a better front bumper :)

I just want to know what do you think the color in each car because some say red will be better in FR-S and I should pick other color for BRZ, so I did the poll know :).

The price tag doesn't really matter for me. In fact, I'm close to finalizing a lightning red BRZ but have to wait till January but I also have an option fo fire red FR-S that is available right away. That's why I'm asking.

I don't care about the climate control. I can put my own HID and nav in FR-S. One more thing, I got the offer for the FR-S that has leather covered seats and upgrade size rims :) for much cheaper than the offer that I got for BRZ. There is after market for LED running light in FR-S, right?

I'm totally agree with you Synack! FR-S has better front bumper!

I like red better on the FR-S.

I've got a red FR-S coming. I didn't check the red color on the BRZ.

i have a firestorm fr-s--- go with the fr-s i love it, i just dont love it when it has water spots! :(

I'm sure no one like it. It just much better to see FR-S front bumper in red rather than in BRZ, right? It just my own preferences though

Red looks better on the FR-S in my opinion since it's front is more aggressive. I like the 'classier' colors on the BRZ like Galaxy Blue and Dark Gunmetal.

It's all a very small difference though. You'll more than likely be happy with whatever choice you make.

Comparing between the FR-S and BRZ limited, here's what I thought:

Exterior = FR-S (front bumper, fender badge, wingless)
Interior = FR-S (BRZ is more upscale, but I prefer the way the FR-S looks oddly)
Features = BRZ (HIDs, dual/auto climate control, heated seats, nav)
Price = FR-S

Just have to decide which car fits your preferences better.

That is a total personal preference question. I went FRS because I like the front bumper better and I can live without all the BRZ extras or add them in later from the aftermarket cheaper.

Hi Synack! How's your turbo? I'm interested to put one in my future BRZ/FR-S. Let me know your experience :)

I'll let you know in a week. We just went the ProEFI standalone ECU route so it will be the first 86 with it. Gotta love the tuning freedom and safety features and the fact that I'm not being strangled by John at Visconti EcuTek's terrible service.

FR-S in my opinion. BRZ has too much superfluous crap stuffed into it. Then again I'm the kind of person who actively tries to avoid having cushy amenities like nav, push start, seat heaters, leather, etc.

Personally I'd like the push start a whole lot. Really enjoyed it in my 370. The other stuff, meh.

If money isn't a thing then, go w custom color!

To be honest, I wouldn't get a red BRZ but I would get a red FR-S... not really sure why. Conversely, I wouldn't get a blue FR-S but I would get a blue BRZ. Probably something to do with all the Subaru sport sedans being mostly blue and all the Toyota sports cars being mostly red. On the other hand, Lighning Red should be the rarest color BRZ, according to initial order reports...

BRZ is only good in WRBlue and white.

FR-S is good in white amongst those 2 colors.

At least your red seat back color will match if you pick the red FRS.

Red FR-S looks hotter.

Nice photo choices. Worst pic of red BRZ possible and a marketing type of photo of the frs. Just saying. Ive seen some smoking red BRZ pics.

I wasn't doing it on purpose. I was trying to find a better pic of the BRZ but I wanted them to be at similar angles and that was the closest I could get.

Alright I vote White FRS.

FR-S.

Red = Aggressive color
FR-S = The more aggressively styled of the twins.

Red = Toyota for sure = FRS.

Personally I like to think of it as more of a Toyota red since they have been using that shade of red for their logos forever.

On the BRZ the black contrast parts somehow does suit the Red color as much. I think the BRZ trim pieces are too big for the Red contrast. The FRS seems more muted and appropriately shaped.

Of course Subaru has been using blue as well for their logo...so naturally blue looks great on the BRZ.

Firestorm isn't shoujyouhi red. It's lightning red. A subaru color, no?

If its available NOW in red via FRS can you REALLY wait 4 more months for a more expensive version???
