burnouts

How do I burnout my AT FR-S? Not used to driving a AT

TuxedoCartman 09-05-2012 04:46 PM

Car is low on torque, and has no capability to let you rev higher than 2500 RPM's with your foot on the brake... so I'd say you can't.

steeloyangster 09-05-2012 04:58 PM

I don't recommend it, but put it in neutral, then rev it all the way up. Once it taps high up in the redline, then shift into D and HOLD ON!

whaap 09-05-2012 05:08 PM

^ Do as suggested if you don't care about your car and don't mind trashing it. If you do care, don't abuse your car.

S2kphile 09-05-2012 05:09 PM

I don't think it's smart to put your FRS on drugs. It reeks havoc on people and you want your FRS to burnout? *SMH*

Spartan65 09-05-2012 05:13 PM

Are you for real?

I know that way but I don't wanna mess with my Tranny that way.

Nah, I've only done this once. LOLZ! But if the OP is trying to do a burnout, this is kinda the only way right? Like I said, I don't recommend it, but if they want to, there's ways to do it. I've done this before in my younger years in FWD's without traction control. I'll certainly never do it again. Sounded like the car was gonna explode and it always drove just the slightest bit different since then, but like I said, I don't recommend it.

Lytheum 09-05-2012 05:27 PM

wait till it rains alot? or maybe drive onto a local ice rink

jadewbj 09-05-2012 05:29 PM

spray a shit ton of tireshine on the ground under the rear tires and floor it. You will get crap all over your car but it should work.

Hotlava86 09-05-2012 06:02 PM

some people's children.....that is all

motofan 09-05-2012 06:07 PM

turn VSC and other aid off, turn your steering full to one side, smash gas and you should be able to have donuts...

Flat Black VW 09-05-2012 06:32 PM

Im not gonna go into how to do a burnout/brake-stand in an automatic car, although usually its pretty easy, maybe not if these wont let you rev past 2500 with your foot on the brake.

Regardless, OP since your two threads that I have just seen are titled "Drift" and "Burnout", and then you ask how to do these such things, you should probably just stick with need for speed and sell your car. And please for the love of god DO NOT rev it up in neutral and dump it, this technique should only be used for rental cars, cars you intend to never drive again, or someones car who you hate... A lot...

"neutral drops" or "Trans drops" - we used to do in high school. 3 of my friends each dropped their transmission doing such a stunt. Dropped as in pieces on the ground. I did it once from a mild rpm, and got the rear tire to chirp in my mid 70's sedan. That thing with a V8 would stall trying to do a "brake stand".

How to do a burnout in an AT FRS? Besides the donut method mentioned, you're out of luck probably - unless you want to do it Hollywood style. As in how you see burn outs done on TV and movies all the time: a bit of bleech on the back tires. Loss of traction and lots of white smoke. Even those 1,000hp dragsters drive through water before trying to spin their tires!

you should have waited for a MT

sell your car and buy and MT and you can do burnouts all day long till the tires explode! :bonk:

SSchifko 09-05-2012 08:33 PM

I have an AT. I'll play around and get back if I can break them loose. I feel it may do it.

Wouldn't it be cool if someone rigged a system where it would secretly coat the tires. Then you could show off to the poser in the (Insert overpowered overweight coupe here) revving his engine mockingly. Put a whole new spin on smoking a guy at the stoplights :bellyroll:. Yes, I know, bad idea for legal and logical reasons but it doesn't hurt to imagine the look on the other guys face when you do it. Imagine::eyebulge:

If he does not know

He has no business with an FR-S. How can you pay 25k and not know that automatics do not do burnouts.:bonk:Without trashing converter/
People will research the dumbest things and yet when it counts most "spit in wind"

Hardrock4445 09-05-2012 10:01 PM

Buy a line lock kit, use your brain, your wrenches and dont abuse such a machine with neutral drops...... Have fun

To answer your question, no not really.

"Look at this idiot in his FR-S doing a burnout in the middle of an intersection; stupid kids in stupid Scions."

mashal 09-05-2012 11:29 PM

Hold down trac off for 5 seconds so the system is off , left foot on the brake right foot on gas, give her till about 5500rpm let go of the brake = small burn out

Also you just ass raped your car... Kinda

_F-R-S_ 09-05-2012 11:37 PM

Burning out is just embarrassing imo......... lets make smoke then pay 400$ For new tires. what a waste.. rather be drifting.!.

this is the most depressing thread I've seen in some time :(

Just do this ish and enjoy it until you find pleasure clipping the curb of an apex whilst in a full four wheel, third gear powerslide like a caterham coming out of gambon.

Bonus points for not realizing that YOU'D be the poser in this situation, seeing as your car doesn't actually make the power to blow the tires off.

Sorry for the misunderstanding. I thought that the sarcasm was so over the top that no one could miss it. Seriously, that idea is really "out there" I know that this is a horrible idea. I never knew what it felt like to type random stupid stuff on a forum. It isn't all that its cracked up to be. So serious face on, What I said before was a bad idea and was purely for sarcastic humor. Besides everyone knows donuts are cooler(more humor).

rikdrt1 09-06-2012 01:10 AM

lol yea, you should of waited for a MT if its that important.. or just wait till u graduate HS and you may drive easier on that poor car...

No problem. On a side note, I am a "stupid kid." (Senior in High School) Not all of us are that dumb, just most of us (95%). I hate being grouped in with them but at the same time, (warning, slightly off topic) there is a friend of mine with an old model impala, around the late 90s. His brakes are so worn that he can push his car along with the parking brake on and the gearshift in park. I've offered to help him with the labor if he buys the pads but he keeps turning me down. I've done my own brakes since I've been driving with the help of my father, an ex-mechanic, so me knowing what I'm doing isn't the issue. Like I said, I will be the first to admit, some of us are huge idiots. When he rear ends someone, not if but when, I hope that it is some beater and not someones nice new car.

rant finished

But no hard feelings especially after that picture. I figure you meant the best and didn't want a wrecked car on your conscience.

Just to let you know theres a good chance brakes have nothing to do with being able to push his car like that. If an ebrake cable needs adjustment any car can roll with it still on, in fact pads really wouldnt effect the ebrake working because even if they were low or gone there would be metal on metal holding the car in place. The issue that it rolled in park, now that is a problem.

These guys who dump it into to drive are the same ones who complain about squeaks and rattles, lol umm why is my transmission leaking? i thought it was like GT5 and i could just restart the game to erase the damage!!
