New Style Double Din Dash Kit
I've been able to source a new style dash kit specifically made for the FRS/BRZ that instead of utilizing the Metra two piece dash kit that bolts to the iso mounts that look kinda.....eh. This new dash kit actually snaps into the radio surround and allows for a much cleaner look as it fills in the gap on the top and bottom. I'll try it out with various popular double dins (pioneer, kenwood, etc) and take as many pictures as possible to show you guys what it looks like. We're getting a few coming in so when they do I'll do a full pre-sale post. Pricing will be around 30$ for it.

Sounds interesting. Get some photos posted when you can please.

I would be down to order this right now. I have a Rydeen DV621 on it's way to me right now (coming in next tuesday). How soon are these going to be available?? Do you need any testers? :-D

looks like an awesome replacement for my metra dask kit. I'm in to order one when they get released!

Count me as interested

IN FOR ONE.
I have a Pioneer AVIC-X940BT. |
Can you ask the vendor to produce some real fiber carbon look to match the stock dash board ?
HU: 8" alpine 928HD is waiting :) |
Not sure if carbon will be in the works, there will be one with rubberized coating to have a better oem look to it.

I am also interested pending fitment photos. How securely does it snap into place?
|
I'm interested in this as long as it sits flush with the factory dash piece and doesn't rattle.
|
I'm in if it looks good. BTW, I have a JVC KW-AVX740 head unit.
|
How much do the side pieces cost from the dealer?

Which cost $10 (on amazon), not counting the paint |

Although if it was really OEM, they should make an option of the dash trim thats a standard Double din size, not add gap fillers that try to match, but clearly are gap fillers. |
|
pics please!
|
Definitely interested. Was ready to install my x940bt with the metra kit...until I saw this post.

Can you input NAV destination by voice or does it have to be typed in? Quote:

You can see in the pic theres a vw iso harness coming off the back. These kits will be available with full plug and play harnesses so you will have no need for any splicing whatsoever. I'm working on this with Enfig Car stereo they will have a youtube video up soon with my car on install and more details with the plug and play harness. |
Not too bad!
|
thanks prime! looks like a great product!
