"Senna" opening this weekend

Anyone going to watch Senna this weekend? Unfortunately there aren't any theaters close to me showing it, so it looks like I will have to wait for it on DVD. Reviews on it have been very good so far.

Oh yeah you mean the thread from 4 months ago that starting talk about motorcycles and the 5 Axis FRS? That thread? I wouldn't throw the search emoticon up on that since that isn't even close to being on topic. It had like one post talking about Senna. I'm just curious who is going to see the movie this weekend and there is no need to dig up an old thread that went off topic and died out. Goodness let that thread rest in peace. :slap:

Unfortunately, my little hick town has never heard of Senna, and none of the local theaters are showing the film. I'll have to wait patiently for the DVD release. :(

Now, now, now. LOL Yes, it's old thread and title didn't justify it, but hey I made it! :bellyroll: :bellyroll: :bellyroll:

Anyways, sad for me but any of my local theaters isn't showing it either

Yep that one Mr King of Off Topic! :bellyroll::bellyroll: It doesn't matter if it was 4 months ago, 4 days ago or 4 decades ago so you can't argue against that. People ask questions that were posted up last week! Don't get your panties up in a bunch because you know I'm just messing with you!:bellyroll:

btw, for those of you in Socal who want to see it, it's playing tonight and tomorrow. :happy0180:

Hey, I would rather live in SLC than SoCal. But that is cause I would want to live close to Alta and take advantage of it during the ski season. Now we are officially off topic.

:word:

Utah is cool in all but damn too many mormons! Also their alcohol laws are very strict there. Good place to visit but not sure about living there.

Yeah, how did you end up in Utah!?!

If we have a SoCal meet, you gotta come down. When we went to Miller, we drove from San Diego to St George in about 7 hrs. On the return trip we B-lined it staight from Tooele to SD and that took about 13 hrs.

I wouldn't mind the drive up from San Diego to LA to see this movie but it's also showing in San Diego on the Aug 26th so I could wait.

IDK, how the hell did I get here? lol One day I was in Cali next thing I know, I'm in Utah LMAO

LOL when I can get off work, I would totally go socal! Just work have been kicking my arse that I don't think I won't be able to take any vacation this yr (Due to last yr went back to Japan for over a month)

Giccin 08-12-2011 06:56 PM

I think I'm partially to blame for the off-topic-ness. LOL But look at all the recent threads that link to other sites. It's starting to get repetitive and people claiming their sources are the most legit thing since silicon breasts are driving me slightly insane.

I might head out to go see it, but LA driving... yuck. Lol I almost died a few times from people who are so impatient they use the parking lanes on the street as a new lane.

That sounds like a spinoff from Hang Over. You're from Cali, you went to Vegas for the weekend then woke up in Utah and didn't know you got there! :bellyroll:

Yeah I am SOL. But at least I don't have to deal with the crazy traffic/smog of LA and the insane cost of living. Here traffic lasts for 30-45min and you still do 40-50mph (as long as there is no accident or road work). So I guess I have that benefit. Also no earthquakes. Just have to deal with the occasional twister. Can't wait until tornado season so that I can do some more storm chasing. :w00t:

I am seriously jealous of you in SLC. One of the places I want to eventually settle in after school. SLC, Denver/Boulder and Portland are the tops of my list. Mostly cause I love mountains, skiing, road biking, mountain biking, backpacking, hiking...etc. If you enjoy the outdoors ichi, you sure have a lot at your finger tips there in SLC. I have a mad crush on SLC if you can't tell.

I was born and raised in Japan, I am city boy~ :) All those things you've listed doesn't interest me. If it did, prob SLC would be better place... but not for me. I have not seen snow in my life til moved here. lol Winter time, I just hibernate whole time, it's too damn cold. Summer time, I'm busy w motorsports & sports (soccer, tennis, softball, etc). Utah only have 2 seasons: Winter & Summer and never Spring or Fall... well maybe day or two of Spring or Fall.

I guess, this proves that grass is greener on other side of the fence :bellyroll:

Hahaha yeah. Here in KS we had something like 40 days this summer with temps above 100. So I can't wait until the winter. I live for the cold weather.

I heard great things about the way the documentary was put together and the old video footage was cut together. I read a few reviews and many say it is a very "emotional" documentary and makes a motor-sport enthusiast almost want to cry during it.

I've been to all 3 that you mentioned; Portland, Boulder and SLC. Out of all of them, esp if you love to mtn bike, Portland for sure! Plus Oregon doesn't have sales tax.

I was in Denver this past May and that touch is a huge pot town... Marijuana dispenseries everywhere. Most of the city looks pretty beat up and I thought the folks there were hippie-ish.

SLC is nice too but the Mormom church on every corner like 7-11 gets old quick. I went there to go hiking on Bryce Canyon and Zion but to also go check out the Miller Motorsports track in Tooele. The caravan I was with stopped at TGI in SLC and the bar was actually in the far back corner. Their drinks were watered down and the bottles have a special tag with less alcohol by volume (about 3%). The waitress also mentioned 3 state rules, 1)no double fisting, 2)can't order a drink w/out ordering food 3)No Happy Hour.

I also like to play sports and currently in 2 leagues; basketball and softball. I used to have a roadbike and a mountain bike (Felt Z25 full carbon w/SRAM components) and a Santa Cruz Blur. When it comes to winter, it's all about snowboarding and some of the best mountains are in California -Tahoe and Mammoth. It was surprised to hear all of the snow resorts in Colorado were already closed when Mammoth's last day is July 4th weekend.

LMAO Hella yeah!!!!

Yeah, drink here sucks... suck really bad! It's hella water down. Good thing I don't drink, it's waste of money drinking in Utah.

MMP is really fun. Been to several time, but haven't done full track yet (hopefully next yr).

Not playing anywhere here, otherwise I'd go see it for sure.

Atlanta gets screwed over rather often for limited release films. Looks like I'll be waiting for DVD

Marrk 08-13-2011 12:50 PM

I was all set to see it (you remember, _Senna_, the thread topic :laughabove: ) last night, but the theater was pretty crowded. I don't enjoy crowds. Maybe I'll get the DVD.

It's supposed to be quite good.

It's true. There are some things about L.A. that totally suck. But I haven't found a better place for car and motorcycle culture.

The roads out here will break your heart. And once you see your first few beautiful blondes in $180k sports cars, you'll need a lobster bib to keep from drooling on your chest.

I just saw Senna. Every F1 fan should see it. I don't think we will see another Senna in our lifetime. Prost cut into him twice. The first time, Senna got blamed for everything, but he took it like a man. Prost should be making Tampax commercials.

"But Senna the documentary isn't about the accomplishments of Ayrton Senna, the racing driver. Senna is about the religious man whose belief in God-and his belief that God believed in him-powered the confidence behind his incredible career.

It's about the Brazilian man who, instead of forsaking his allegiance to his third-world country of origin, embraced his homeland and made its citizens proud to be Brazilian. It's about the forthright man who, for better or worse, always spoke his mind and refused to play politics or childish games, even at the expense of his own career."
