Sweet products, I hope you do well

NemeGuero 08-29-2012 02:29 AM

How hard was it shaping the overlay around the curvature of the taillight? Seems like it takes some patience.

86_ZN6 08-29-2012 02:33 AM

How much to order the tail lights overlay

Patience is definately required! But as you can see from the pics, it can be done :).

Sent you a Pm.

Calidrifter 08-29-2012 02:46 AM

I was wondering when you would show up here Andy. You still got the Viper?

oso_25 08-29-2012 06:07 PM

More pic angles and what's the price?

mashal 08-29-2012 06:10 PM

Ye you should just post the prices, I believe those are the rules as well?

Anyways could you post more pictures of the lights , does one to have out the tail light to get the overlay on ?

MrH 08-29-2012 09:33 PM

Waiting on price and then I'll likely be ordering right away.

boonFRS 08-29-2012 10:19 PM

I believe the price is $38. If you look in his photo in the link that are captions with prices. I'm just waiting on him to respond to my email so I can pay.

Bluebatmobile 08-30-2012 10:12 AM

When you click on images in my gallery. Prices and ordering info are listed below :). Prices start at $10 for the turns signal Overlays. I'm working on taillight lids right now :). Should have pics up in a few days of those, and turns signal overlays, on an FR-S :).

Here is a sample of Smoked red on an STI:

boucher 08-31-2012 09:17 PM

For the tails, are these one piece or multiple pieces?

Laika 08-31-2012 09:54 PM

Been talkin to Andy about these since I got my car. Just placed an order for the red tails with cutout.

This is gonna be a pain in the ass to install but it'll be worth it. Definitely taking off the tails for the job.

Its a one piece overlay :). Lots of patience will be required to install these, but the results are very awarding! Cant wait to see these on more cars!

on a scale of 1 to 10, how difficult are the tail overlays? 1 being super easy, a child could do it, and 10 being pro vinyl and tint installers only.

ttknf 09-01-2012 01:05 AM

Good to see you got some stuff going Andy!

8-9. I always encourage my customers to install themselves. One thing I do offer is if you mess up on installation, I offer replacements at discount :). Patience is really required to install this, but the end results are rewarding!

Also, please keep in mind, these are slightly oversized to ensure complete coverage. Trimming and tucking in may be required after overlay sets.

You dont even know how many email requests even before the car came out, to produce these. Many are people who've sported my vinyl over the years :).

B@t™

Bluebatmobile 09-02-2012 11:28 AM

I've created taillight lids and will have pics up in a few days :). Also, pics for front marker lamps in amber finish :). I've gotten emails re reverse overlays just smoking or redding out the reverse section. I do offer that, just need pics :).

B@t™

Bluebatmobile 09-05-2012 12:41 AM

I am offering a two piece taillight overlay as well. Seam is hardly visible!

B@t™

PMok 09-05-2012 01:29 AM

is the two piece easier to install than the full one-piece?

Also would you be able to do this design/cutout?

Khalis 09-05-2012 04:11 AM

Speaking of requests, could you also make one like this?

looking forward for more products and details.. Add my name in your future transaction.. Can't wait!

Laika 09-05-2012 07:12 PM

I have a feeling I'm gonna be in over my head trying to install my tail light overlays....

Any tips? I'm 1000% sure I'm going to remove the tails to do it but haven't really considered anything else to make this any easier.

Hi Andy,
Here's a subtly aggressive yet clean-cut idea for a matte black overlay on the BRZ spoiler (outlined in red below only along the backing of the middle blade piece, not on the top). Works well with the existing black accents on the front bumper cover, side mirrors, and rear diffuser. And this would work with my BRZ STI black/blue theme I've got going.

My idea was inspired by this Release Series tC spoiler:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IUVYDydp-3Q#t=2m57s

Can you make this? If you need a BRZ to work on in San Diego let me know!

My authorized installer here in San Diego Loves the two piece :). One piece is standard cut. Specify two piece if thats what you desire ;).

btw-I can do the requested cut for you :). Email me.

Oh boy, just got done (for now) applying my tail light overlays with the cut outs. The first one I had a lot of trouble with till I realized how pliable the vinyl really is once heated up. I did a lot better on the second tail light. I've never worked with vinyl before but I'll say as long as you are a patient person or like in my case, can encourage yourself to be patient for the sake of your car, you should be able to handle it. I can't imagine doing it without a heat gun or a professional hair dryer. My personal advice....

1. Clean the light first (soap/water mix)

2. Buff clean, make sure there's no finger prints

3. Spray some soap/water mix onto the light and onto the vinyl overlay

4. Using a squeegee of some sort smooth out the face of the light as much as possible. Get out all of the water too.

5. Start working on the edges, I choose the huge PITA curves at the end of the tail light (outside edge of the car) to start with. Heat the vinyl up to stretch it and then firmly press it down/squeegee it flat. Don't try to do the entire curve at once unless you're already experienced. Work from the inside out, saving the edges of the light for last. To avoid creases/wrinkles you're really gonna have to heat/stretch the vinyl.

As far as the sale, thanks Andy! got them in a week flat. They were shipped to my work and my secretary was trying to figure out if the envelope said "F$*# me" or "kill me"...turns out it said "Fragile" :bellyroll:

I'm gonna see if I can fix up the first one tomorrow morning and I'll try to get some pictures too.
