driftartist 08-28-2012 04:09 PM

M-17 08-28-2012 04:15 PM

Um, okay then? That's just weird, but go for it if you really like it I guess?

ABQautoxer 08-28-2012 04:29 PM

I decided to PlastiDip mine. I had never done it before but it wasn't hard and I only did the rear for now:

EDIT: doh I just realized you wanted to do the actual Subaru emblems. Weird.

rcm47 08-28-2012 04:33 PM

If its a limited you could be the first to do a gt86 conversion with push start.

jeebus 08-28-2012 04:38 PM

why not create your own brand while you're at it?

86_ZN6 08-28-2012 04:51 PM

if you replace your bumper then yes it will look ok to rebadge to toyota

DantKR 08-28-2012 04:57 PM

Even the Toyota/Scion-badged wheel caps and steering wheel covers are made in a Subaru plant...

The op is asking for honest opinions, if the brz was available and he got one but wants the Toyota emblems to make it feel more gt86 then why not? It's no different than adding parts that say 86 on ours like oil caps, license plates etc etc. I say go for whatever you like just keep the Subaru ones in case you don't like it. Mods should close this thread before the flames continue in this thread. This isn't how our forum should be to new members.

Op, I kept my badges incase I ever changed my mind but I just like the clean look of it off. If you want to add Toyota GT-86 go for it. If you don't like it switch them back, if you are talking about the centers, then I don't know what to tell ya because idl if they line up or if you want to have to keep telling people it's a brz86 not a scion since all scion guys are switching to Toyota badges

thelegaCy 08-29-2012 08:02 AM

lol guys I was just entertaining the idea of debadging everything and adding matte black emblems... I couldn't find any carbon fiber/dark subaru emblems soo.....yeah

Jimbo 08-29-2012 08:13 AM

Silly

czar07 08-29-2012 08:50 AM

fuck it mang, do what you want. Badge it a ferrari

Kimsey47 08-29-2012 09:17 AM

Perhaps you could find a Kia or Ford emblem that would fit? They're both ovals and may have something available like what you're looking for.

(Or for fun you could just use a Ford emblem and tell people it is a 2013 Probe!) HAHA

thelegaCy 08-29-2012 09:42 AM

i hate you guys :( jkjk

Keep the Subaru emblem up front, put a toyota badge in the rear and scion center caps... that will really screw with people

Turbowned 08-29-2012 11:30 AM

Really, no one makes CF Subie badges? You should find the company that does the BMW roundels in CF and see if they'd take on a new project! I think that'd be pretty cool, actually.

EDIT: K2 Gear in Japan used to, it seems. I couldn't find them still for sale. Check out this DIY guide where a guy made his own!

Although it's a strange idea to rebadge the BRZ as a Toyota, I don't see how it's comparable to badging it a Ferrari or Kia. It's not as if Toyota is some outside marque that piggy-backing off Subaru. Let's open the history books and rediscover who spawned, designed and had ultimate discretionary power throughout this car's inception.

driftartist 08-29-2012 01:21 PM

Wow. Some excitable people. Its ok. I calmed down after high school. Maybe others will too...

lol.....history books!
:slap:

Lets also give credit to the company who physically built/builds the cars and who's name is stamped on pretty much all of the damn parts.

http://www.ft86club.com/forums/attac...6&d=1322867795

The only ones that can tell us who gets the most credit with making the car is Toyota and Subaru. And for some reason they never really mention each other when speaking about the car and if they do its briefly. So we will probably never know.

That's totally true. Subaru physically built the car and they deserve credit for that. I merely tried to remind us of Toyota's role, because rebadging the car as a Toyota is in no way comparable to badging it as a Ferrari or any other completely unrelated product.

Maybe we should change the name of America to Africa since it was built by the slaves

Subaru parts, subaru engineering, subaru building, toyota design, toyota backing.... Anyone who doesnt consider this more of a subaru must be a loyal toyota fan

Laika 08-29-2012 06:07 PM

<----Loyal Toyota and Subaru fan since the age of 4. Anyone who doesn't think Toyota had an impact on this car has obviously NEVER seen the clock or air filter.

czar07 08-29-2012 11:38 PM

My point is do whatever makes you feel happy. Who cares what is "acceptable". Badge it whatever you want

pinoyplaya 08-29-2012 11:52 PM

I put racing stripes on mine, added a Ferrari badge and people think its a souped up Lambo :(

driftartist 08-30-2012 01:41 AM

I used duct tape and made a big ass honda h on my hood. But the again i scrapped that fa20 and threw in a k20 instead. Vroom vroom

Civilization was built with slavery. Slavery is as old as prostitution. And those slaves eventually became "American" citizens. So your argument is invalid. :D Maybe if they came here "built" america (as you seem to think) and went back to Africa, then you could argue that.

Fine. In 400 years you can call it a subaru
