I think I bring too much crap with me to the track...
At least when it's ~1,100 miles away.. most packed BRZ?
Start with all of this: http://www.itrexpo.com/users/dave/brz/IMG_1316.jpg http://www.itrexpo.com/users/dave/brz/IMG_1320.jpg http://www.itrexpo.com/users/dave/brz/IMG_1321.jpg Get this portion in: http://www.itrexpo.com/users/dave/brz/IMG_1324.jpg http://www.itrexpo.com/users/dave/brz/IMG_1325.jpg And the rest... http://www.itrexpo.com/users/dave/brz/IMG_1328.jpg http://www.itrexpo.com/users/dave/brz/IMG_1330.jpg Combined with Eibach Sportlines the rear was a wee bit low... :o http://www.itrexpo.com/users/dave/brz/IMG_1332.jpg |
Nice! Now I know for sure I will be able to fit my homebrew setup when I get my car
|
You have Yuengling... so jelly! :happy0180:
A 1100 miles for a track day!! I would have U Hauled it there. http://www.uhaul.com/Reservations/Im...ruckTowing.png |
You might have to adjust your headlights with that load!

I drank so much Yuengling that trip I'm actually sick of it somehow lol kwood: I moved the switch to 1 :) At 0 I could see the light going up to the top of semi trailers :o |
Wow, man, I don't know how you managed to talk your co-driver into letting you jam him face-first into the trunk like that. :D

WOW :confused0068::confused0068:
|
extra springs?! you really do come prepared.
|
So much win in this thread!
Gotta love the LeMons tech inspection stickers on the helmets :respekt: |
You could fit a meth lab in there
|
Get some tire toats. It'll complete the track day package!! Seriously, though, that's impressive. The should a picture like that in dealerships to show how much the car can hold.
|
Nice Enkei RPF1's! What size wheels and tires?
|
Looks good to me! Great job packing!
Have fun! |

However based on video it looks like 2-3 seconds on average faster and 1.5 seconds diff between the fastest lap with both. However, there is some variance there as I was 1,100 miles from home in a brand new car for the first time on Mid Ohio. My lines seemed decent enough (not perfect but not bad for learning it on my own in a couple of sessions) but I was NOT pushing 10/10ths. Car was in VSC sport and TC flashed like crazy, even though it almost never cut in. It flashes like crazy under braking and when hitting the curbing. I left in in VSC Sport for the same reasons I wasn't driving 10/10ths. It'll be good to get some time with the car on a track I know well, like CMP, Sebring, etc. Here's a couple of laps: [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q2RrZ26sM6Y"]2 laps at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in a Subaru BRZ - ITR Expo 2012 - YouTube[/ame] |
Wow, that is a ton of stuff. That is crazy that it all fits.
|
Great video, Dave. Thanks for posting it. Smooth driving!
Taking mine to Mid Ohio in a couple of weeks for the PCA DE, and I've got a few setup questions: I'm using stock size Pilot Super Sports on 8" wide PF01s - what would be good cold and hot tire pressures? Planning to run max available neg camber with camber bolts - good idea? How much rear toe in with that (in degrees)? Ive ordered pre-bedded XP10/XP8s to run on dedicated Centric Premium blanks - before I install them, is this a good combination for this chassis? Everything else on the car is stock (except for the brake fluid). |

L R Front Camber -1.0 -1.2 Front Toe 0.01d 0.02d (.03 total) Rear Camber -2.7 -2.3 Rear Toe .12d .12d (.24 total) I requested 0 front and .12 each in the rear. With this setup the car did push a little, it wasn't bad and I made it conservative on purpose due to Mid Ohio's more dangerous nature and my unfamiliarity with the car and the new springs. Quote:

Thanks dave, good info. Mid Ohio looks like a fun track - I've wanted to run there for years.
I have seen several people post that the rear brakes run cool - maybe the best setup is to use the lightweight unvented JDM rotors... |
WTF? MIniVan?
|
take out everything but the yuengling and cooler...those are the only essentials needed! :D
|
Geez...buy the beer once you arrive! ;) And for that matter...install the springs before you go! LOL
|
Damn, that thing is packed. Good work making the most of what you have and need.

You know what you are missing? Better beer.

Lol that's about the amount of crap I bring to an auto-x! Except in place of beer I bring an EZ-up and folding chairs so we can all chill in the shade when in between runs and course work. Yay for the MR2 having two trunks, but I bet the BRZ is even better!
I've never had Yuengling, I've heard it's only really "just OK" but it's a regional thing. Kind of like when I go to PA I get Iron City; it's not "good" by any means but you can only get it in the PA/OH area. New England is full of amazing breweries so I can count myself lucky for that :) OK, back on topic! *Goes off to pour a glass of Opa Opa Raspberry Wheat* |
Silly question, coming form a guy who's never done a track day in a car before (plenty on a motorcycle): What do you keep looking in your rear view mirror for?
I don't know the etiquette for cars, but on bikes we always had to remove our mirrors or tape them up and point them down so we wouldn't use them (and so they wouldn't shatter and spread glass all over) because it was the responsibility for the faster rider to pass the slower rider safely. Slower guys weren't supposed to get out of the way, just ride their ride and let the fast guys go around them; there were still classes, but even in a 600cc pro class some guys are still way faster than others. Is this different in cars? Or was there someone back there? |

I'm used to looking to make sure someone isn't coming up, habit from wheel to wheel racing, better to know someone is there then to turn into them and force them to pit you. |
