Look for anyone that has the afe intake as they are one and the same.

jumbaco 08-27-2012 02:11 PM

does it use those horrible foam filters like the other Greddy intakes? I can't tell from the pictures.

Opposed 08-27-2012 02:12 PM

No foam filter. This intake is the same as the AFE intake. They have not been released yet...

The Greedy only comes with a dry filter. The Takeda comes optional with paper or oiled filter.

Edited to correct not paper filter, just dry.

The bogging issue seems to be tune related not so much intake related since people with a tune and no intake have had the same issue. Also, the dry flow filter isn't paper, it's layered synthetic fabric/mesh that can be cleaned with just soap and water and reused (just without using oil like the K&N filters).

People without a tune have had the issue as well. I think it has to do with the air straightener thats in the factory air box but missing in the aftermarket intakes.

They have different MAF sensor placement so I would say they are definitely not exactly the same.

*Correction* I was thinking the Airraid intake

Calidrifter 08-27-2012 04:52 PM

Hadn't noticed that.

jpit 08-27-2012 05:00 PM

The photos of those AFE intakes were taken before the final designs were completed. So they may be the same (which I believe will happen) or not.

The Greddy photo shows no snorkle attachment and they were testing to see if it would be included or not. Don't know what they decided.

that's the only between takeda and greddy.

the sound tube is deleted with greddy

Sportsguy83 08-28-2012 08:19 AM

Takeda thought about leaving the sound tube but ultimately decided against it. Both will be sound tube deleted, if memory serves me.

As it has been said. Greddy and aFe are identical. The aFe should be shipping shortly and the Greddy would be behind it.
