plastidip practice on the FR-S
5 Attachment(s)
Yay or nay??? This stuff is cool to get an idea with!!! Easy to apply/remove. What do you guys think before I do a more permanent application?
|
looks good!
best thing about it is, it's not permanent! cant go wrong with $8 a can |
zoom out a bit
|
Sorry, iphone pics lol. I just want to get an idea before I have my guy match the paint to the black chrome titanium wheel color to tie the care together.
|
Yeah, what he said, I would zoom out a bit. Take some pics during the day and we can get a better feel for it. But it looks good so far.

I've gone through 3 cans in a month. I've got a Plasti-Dip fetish now or something-- i did my Van, the center of my Celica's TRD spoiler, my mom's Pontiac, my GFs Mazda 3, My friend's Cobalt, my cat, some school children, a Perkin's waitress, everyone has felt my wrath. |
looks good as far as i can see... daylight pics please

ahhh yess very cool idea!
i was thinking about going to this tint/vinyl shop guy in Great Neck to get him to do matte black vinyl on the lower section of the front bumper.. but he was talking about having to remove the grill ($50) and then charging like $170 to do the vinyl work.. i was like oh hell no. then i saw the TRD/toyota front bumper garnish that covers that spot.. but thats like over $280... so i think this might be the perfect solution and its not permanent! but my question is... if lets say i do enough coats... how likely is it that a rock or chip will occur? or will the plastidip come off during a car wash? |

Looks good OP.:party0030: |
*runs off to plasti-dip his car*

I like the look of the lower lip but I'm not really a fan of the black side 'vent'. It doesn't seem to mesh well and looks really out of place. Actually, i'm not really of the weird side vent at all...it's just weird. Anyways, on the plasti dip itself, you did a wonderful job!

Pics of the Waitress or it never happened.

No on the 86 panel...it runs into the black weather seal on the doors. As for the lip yes, however the black should not "crossover" onto the fangs of the fascia. Keeping it centralized looks more functional. IMO.

Pictures from far are necessary

Like, less fang coverage.
Would blackout of the 86 emblem and rod background areas be too much? There is something to follow the line of the mirror housing trim, but being a lousy artist I can't see what/where it is. Maybe I'm thinking too much (about the splash guards on my whiteout FR-S)? |
Oh man!!! Looks amazing in the light. Not at my pc but I'll get picks up. Matched the mirror Plastics perfect!!! Front looks so sick!!! God these cars are sexy.
