MF Snakes On A Plane

MF Ghost series are okay… was reading for a while, but lost interest in the story & after he (Shigeno) went on first hiatus, I stop reading.
Expect to see twin gets MFG tax… just like AE86, FC & FD got Ini-D tax lol |
Isnt MF ghost supposedly a bit more ridiculous than Intial D?
In initial D an old AE86 can beat the other cars because its put in a position of strength (lots of tight turns, driver knowledgeable of the intricacies of the course), and later on a engine swap with a race car derived 4A-GE (helps keep up with the more powerful competition), plus a sprinkle of vehicular superpowers. MF ghost you have a FT86 beating things like Ferarris, the GT-R...and even more overpowered modern machines....making it more reliant on superpowers and more unrealistic? I dunno, i just heard it isnt as good as the original Initial D |

It's always down to the trunk monkey in manga.

Anyway there's supposed to be one or two other new racing animes coming which may be more accurate if that's what you're after. One of them IIRC takes place in Super-Formula. |

Now, racing is somewhat reasonable… love story is a different story. Like original Ini-D, Shigeno got no love story creativity lmao |
Only in Japanese, but some interesting voices/quick frame if you're looking close:

I just wish Bunta's actor were still alive and could play a role :( |
I'm sure I'll watch this show out of sheer obligation, but I'd rather have a good, completely new car story instead of an adaptation of a manga nobody seems to like very much.
MF Ghost hits the same beats as Initial D with the whole under-powered car beating out superior cars, but I found that--as much as I love Initial D--the concept did get stale after awhile, and the interesting parts became the subplots, like the Ryosuke one in Fifth Stage. Even aside from a tired concept, the premise of Initial D seems more compelling than MF Ghost. The illegal street racing seems more interesting than sanctioned rally events. |
^^this^^ I loved the characters in the original story. The premise of a Corolla kicking everyone's ass got a bit old. I'll still follow this one because...

First episode out! Decent intro to the new story.
Of course the episode ends right when the first race begins. Can't binge like I did with initial d. Lots of fan service right from the get-go too. Won't say any so people can notice it themselves :P |
Here I am, only having watched up to Stage 3. Plus the 3 movies which are basically an abridged version of Stage 1 and 2.
Anyways, anyone know where and how I can get all Stages in DVD? |

Driving fast is more fun when it's unsanctioned don't @ me :burnrubber: |
They should had done a prequel. Ryosuke at peak while being "the white comet" and Bunta driving reckless.

They race against similar cars/people, even relatives (like the one guy and his father). Same car. They even have similar friends. Gas station manager is Bunta's Itsuki. The shop mechanic who helps replace the engine could be like an Iketani or maybe an amalgam of Iketani and like Fumihiro or the other tech in Project D. Ryosuke could've been cool though. Racing on the street, gymkhana since they say he participated in that, etc. Good mix of street and some official track days. |
Todays episode, so hype!!
|
Meh, wonder how will be the plot amor(s). I ain't bothered with the manga either
|
Update: this anime is life because nostalgia of OG characters. And the gt86 finally will be boosted.
