That old mule is still floating around, eh?

Giccin 07-19-2011 11:09 PM

Hmm... I wouldn't say to be entirely sure that's the subie's car but I can't say otherwise either.

Looks like a preza' tbh. :/

RRnold 07-19-2011 11:12 PM

It looks like the Impreza mule. Michigan plates!?! :iono:

PAImportTuner 07-19-2011 11:16 PM

I agree. Don't see a reason for the FT-86 to go back to a mule like this. This is really cool to see.

Giccin 07-20-2011 01:10 AM

I hope its butt doesn't look like that in production! /cringe

Here are pics of the old mule:
Am I right in thinking that the wheelbase on this new one is slightly longer?

One ugly machine.

It isn't meant to be pretty at this point, but I assume you knew that.

The more I look at it, the more I see this:

I'm seeing the same thing, at least a couple inches extra on each side of the door, it's likely the same style mule for a different project

madfast 07-20-2011 04:32 PM

it looks exactly the same... so either this mule was never the FT and was the next gen WRX all along, or its the FT testing something mundane like electronics, A/C, etc...

Or the alleged date of the vid is incorrect?

MiguelAE86 07-22-2011 10:21 PM

Bonus points: The recording black car is a Camaro! just sayin'...

No way it's the next WRX, because this is a RWD mule--the distance from the front wheel arch to the firewall is a dead giveaway.

Matador 07-31-2011 11:41 PM

Probably still around for durability testing of certain components.

Uh, you do know that FWD cars don't have that section long because of how the engine sits with respect to the axle, right? Guess not.

Don't fan the flames. He wants to get a rise out of you. Why do you think he comments the way he does?

I think a majority of the members have already put him on ignore. Lol
