19k FRS

19k FRS

Not mines but I was cruising through CL and found this little beauty. Cheapest I've seen for an FRS. Not bad for 3xxx miles it's just a sad sight to see the reason for selling it is because his wife. *note* to fellas :bellyroll:

Is this anyone's on here? I think I might jump on it if it's confirmed to be a 6speed and there aren't any major issues. I'm just surprised he's selling it this low. I'm sure he could get 22-24k for it right now.

BlaineWasHere 08-22-2012 11:53 AM

What the fuck kinda wife is that? Sounds like a bitch and not a wife to me.

JoeBoxer 08-22-2012 11:53 AM

Seems fishy he could trade it in and get more and get money back to give her.

BlaineWasHere 08-22-2012 11:54 AM

In Sac too... I guess I should waited to buy my FR-S! LOL

whitefrs 08-22-2012 11:54 AM

i believe its a good price and it has 3k miles already...

text the guy and get a VIN and run a car fax

+1.

Especially being 3k miles, and almost mint, he's taking a big toll from 6k.

Even after pdi and taxes it would be around 2K.

Edit:

OP you said "there aren't any major issues" So you're saying there may be minor ones? :)

neutral 08-22-2012 11:58 AM

I texted him. He already sold it for $18,500 :(

denverizzles 08-22-2012 11:58 AM

uhhh...i'd rather trade in the wife in that scenario. cause any wife that makes you do that is someone you shouldn't be married to.

JoeBoxer 08-22-2012 11:59 AM

Either somebody got a deal or he changed his mind and didn't sell it. It has happened to me twice on CL where somebody posts their car for sale but then won't even respond to texts or emails.

Whoa, that's a low price... Agreed, someone got a deal or he decided it was priced too low and / or changed his mind on selling?

Must've really wanted a QUICK sale... Still not worth that much of a loss no matter how much of a hard time his wife is giving him. (Unless she had a baseball bat to his head!) :paddle: :scared0016: :bellyroll:

Wow. Makes it sound like it was real... 18.5k is so cheap.

bestwheelbase 08-22-2012 02:54 PM

Listen, not to jump the gun or anything, but we're going to be in the market for a used FRS next year and we're happy to help someone who has lovingly maintained the car but his (or her) wife says it must go. No judgement.

Hello CL I have a Clean Title 2013 Scion FRS that I've BOUGHT(Not Finance or lease) from 2 months ago and want to sell it. Info on car:

2013 Scion FRS
Manual 6 Speed
All stock and still have warranty
3,211 Miles to date
Firestorm-Red Color

Nothing wrong with car. It still looks brand new and everything is stock. Reason for selling: I need need to get rid of it! Wife keeps nagging and accusing me of picking up girls with this car. She did help me with cash to buy it so I'm trying to sell it and pay her back then shut her the F*** up and buy a car with my own money so I don't have to let her know when I want to drive! It's been paid off and I'm loosing 6k from selling it at this price. Just trying to be fair here, it is used so I'll sell it at this price just want to make some money back. Let me know if you are interested. Text me at this number [number removed] TEXT ONLY I'm at work.
Quoting the CL ad for posterity.

SeattleJeremy 08-22-2012 03:11 PM

He should've sold it to Carmax, he would've got more than $18,500.

jadewbj 08-22-2012 03:39 PM

Gotta say, his wife sounds terrible.

Brimford 08-22-2012 03:59 PM

Someone probably got his joy rides in the car and dropped it. Just like i would be skeptical to buy a used GTR. Yeah you can get them for half the price now...but god knows what the people have done to them :O

The girl sounds too much like a terrible person to actually stay with them.

trackmagic 08-22-2012 04:11 PM

She must be hot for him to put up with that BS.

no_name 08-22-2012 04:17 PM

Yeah, any person that blindly accuses their spouse of cheating for no good reason doesn't sound like a person I'd want to be married to.
"Wife keeps nagging and accusing me of picking up girls with this car." WTF?!

Sounds like a Borderline personality disorder (BPD) girl. If that's the case GTFO fast. And any man that puts up with a woman like that should have his balls cut off because that's what a BPD girl does.

If only I had saw this CL post earlier I could have provided some consultation & service that would have turned his marriage and life around that he would gladly give me the car for free.

FRiSson 08-22-2012 04:38 PM

Hmm, I was just thinking what kind of car is least likely to provoke jealous allegations that he is using it to pick up girls.

My candidates:
Smart4two
Mazda 2
Lincoln MKS
Buick LaCrosse
Chrysler Town and Country
Scion XD

This is so true. I have an ex wife who would accuse me of cheating all the time (asian, and I never did). 9 months in she had a psychotic break and went to the hospital. I'm single and in a much better place now.

Hanakuso 08-22-2012 05:16 PM

"Wife keeps nagging and accusing me of picking up girls with this car."

Does she realize this car only gets attention from men? I've gotten about a dozen thumbs up and waves. All from men..

LMAO then she might be worried for something else lol:barf:

Leonardo 08-22-2012 05:22 PM

sounds fishy... maybe he totaled it and fixed himself. story is suspect... he is going to loose 6k to get her off his back??? because that will make her happy...

Add PT Cruiser and Chevy SSR to that list. I know they're "fast", but good god they are UGLY.

FRSowner 08-22-2012 07:33 PM

Maybe he was asking $19,000 but sold it for $18,500 because the buyer agreed to take his wife too....

Agreed. Losing 6k on a car would NEVER make a woman happy. Trust me...

Lol, reminds me of this classic post on the Jeep Cherokee forums (kinda long but totally worth the read):

http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f11/9...nions-1149721/

Quote:

So, my boyfriend bought a '96 Cherokee (XJ) SE, for way too much, like around $3,000. It broke down and he has put another $2,500 in it and totally rebuilt the engine and did a lot of after market work on it. He has and will do all the labor himself, he refuses to pay for labor. Now, he finds out that the motor needs to be taken back out and fixed again and is looking at another $700. I said he should just sell it and wipe his hands clean, he says he won't make enough.

Firstly, what is your guys' opinion on what he should do? Secondly, how much do you think he could make parting it versus just the whole car as is?

Thanks for your guys' opinions!
Quote:

You want my opinion? Ok…

Shut the hell up. You’re not his wife. You’re not paying for the repairs. It’s absolutely none of your business what he does with his Jeep or his money. I know your type well… first it’s “Sell the Jeep because it’s costing too much money.” Then it’s “No, you can’t go spend the weekend with your buddies because I need you to take me shopping.” Then it’s “Oh gee, honey… I’m pregnant. Gosh, I have no idea how that happened.”

You’re a DreamKiller. You kill a guy’s dreams, take away his future, tie him down with a fat mortgage and too many babies, and turn him into just another miserable guy wondering, “How the hell did I get here?”

Do you really want to help him? Here’s what you do… go to your local library (it’s a big building with books inside) and check out a couple of books on rebuilding engines. Read them, over and over, until YOU understand what needs to be done. Then help him get that engine out and rebuild it. Tie your hair back in a ponytail, put on some old jeans and get your hands dirty. Hand him wrenches, hold the light, pull the wire connectors apart, help him get the hood off… help him with anything he needs. When he gets tired, run inside and make him a hot lunch or dinner. Fix him coffee, hot chocolate, whatever he wants. (But NO beer. Beer is for when the job is done.)

Then when the day is over and you’re both exhausted from working on the engine, push him into a hot shower and jump in with him. Scrub his back, wash his hair, rinse him off, and dry him with fluffy towels still hot from the dryer. Then push him into bed and screw his ears off. Then get up the next day and do it all over again.

Make him realize that rebuilding an engine is a slow and methodical process. Make him realize that every step should be regarded as surgery; every step must be perfect… perfect torque, perfect fit, perfectly clean. If you run into a step that you just can’t figure out, ask for help from someone who knows what he’s doing. Are you cute? Put on a low-cut top, show some cleavage and go (by yourself) to the local Jeep shop, and explain to the guys that you are helping your boyfriend to rebuild his engine and neither of you can figure out this one little step, and do they have any advice…

Think it won’t work? Think again. We guys love to help cute girls, even if they have a boyfriend. (Hey, maybe you’ve got a sister, or girlfriend…)

But absolutely DO NOT whine or complain. Do not say a single negative thing. Not a single “Oooooo, I broke a nail.” If you break a nail, or cut your finger, or bang a knuckle, you just shut up and DEAL WITH IT. You should be a hopelessly optomistic, never-say-die cheerleader, encouraging him every step of the way.

That’s my opinion.

@oldskule I foolishly assumed it was going to be some hard-edged rant but it ended up being really optimistic and lovely.

Wow.

I cried a little?

20valvewynn83 08-24-2012 01:26 AM

I would have dumped the wife and taken off with the car well telling her to kiss my ASS BITCH!!!
