What vendor stocks Team Dynamic

I've searched through most of the vendors websites looking for these wheels and have not been able to find anything. I did find a website that stocks them for pretty cheap with free shipping ( http://www.outmotoring.com/mini-coop...-pro-race.html) but I'd like to support a vendor.

I would want 17X8, A decently aggressive offset but nothing crazy (these will be for track/autox/daily) and either Anthracite or black color (not sure anything else would look good on the hot lava)

Some pictures of the wheels.

Just to be clear I know I can get lighter RPF1s for a similar price, but this these things can take a beating and that is important to me.

Thanks all

Damn, I can't remember the name. One of the first vendors here has these. But I don't know if he has official status now so the original thread may be locked.

I did a search and couldn't find anything so that's a good possibility, that or my Search-foo is weak!.

TemeCal 08-21-2012 12:15 PM

I had these on my mini. I loved the wheels, but I also cracked 3 spokes on one wheel. I ended up buying another wheel, and tracked the car numerous times after that. If I hadn't cracked the spokes on that wheel, I'd look at these wheels for my FR-S. Unfortunately, I'm not quite sure how much of a "beating" they can really take. Still love the wheel though...

Manual search win.

You would be the first person I've heard of damaging one. I've been reading lots of "well my car is trashed but the wheels are okay" stories about them. Hmm I'll have to do a little more reading.

Don't get me wrong, I absolutely LOVED the wheels. I bought my wheels through Randy Webb (not sure how much you were into the mini scene). I still might even have pictures of the cracks. I was on the freeway and noticed a vibration noise coming from the rear tire/wheel. Looked back, and noticed my wheel was wobbling...completely lop-sided.

Maybe I just got a bad wheel, because this one cracked before I took it to my first track event. Once I replaced it, I tracked my mini with these wheels every month without any issue.

Never was in the min scene, great cars just never got into them personally. If you can find them that would be great, I am curious to see them.

It was several years ago, so I'll see if I can still find them. I found pix of my mini at the track with them, and also found the email I sent to Webb Motorsports after it cracked...but haven't found the pictures yet. I'll keep looking...

No big deal if you can't. Did they warranty the wheel or did you have toout of pocket it?

If a forum vendor can't help you, give Team Illuminata Motorsport a call. They sell Team Dynamics and BRAID wheels.

As for strength, TD wheels are solid when used for the application. I've seen them break, but it was a car using lightweight Pro Race wheels that had an unknown history to compete in RallyX. Completely wrong wheel for the sport. I use the TD Pro Rally wheels and they have taken unbelievable amounts of abuse with no issues.

JoeBoxer 08-21-2012 01:40 PM

Those white ones are kinda sexy but i don't care for the writing around the lip.

mines13 08-21-2012 02:05 PM

I have a set of these on the way. TD produces wheels for WTCC, BTCC and several other FIA road racing series/teams. They produce an extremely high quality cast wheel.

I was playing with the "see on my car" option on Tirerack, they look good with the Hot Lava, and probably would be a little different.

Where did you get them and if you don't mind me asking how much and what size? I knew about the BTCC but was unaware of the rest of the FIA classes.

I almost forgot about them, they were a sponsor on dirtyimpreza. I may give them a call today and see what they can do. thanks!

I'm embarrassed to say, I don't know if they covered the replacement cost...or if I had to. I *thought* I did, but now I'm not so sure. Like I said, this was several years ago. I've looked through all my emails, and I see correspondence from Webb Motorsports...but nothing from Team Dynamics. So, I'm not sure who paid for the 4th wheel.

I had 17x7 PR1s. I had to get the PR1s, because the PR1.2s wouldn't clear my big brake kit. Looking at the pictures again that you posted, and going through the pictures when I had them on my Mini, makes me want to look more into these.

Thanks for posting. I was going to go with RPF1s, but didn't care for the look. Now, I'm thinking these wheels might be in the running. I'd love to see an FR-S/BRZ running these, so I can see how they look.

Please, please, please post pictures once they're installed :thanks: What size wheel did you go with? What color? What tire will you be running?

mines13 08-21-2012 03:27 PM

I am afraid my price would not be all that relevant to you unfortunately. That said, the retail price on these wheels is pretty low to begin with. Comparable to RP-F1.

While trying to find the weight of them, I found these pictures:

The above pictures aren't mine. However, my 3 spokes cracked exactly where the above ones did. I realize just about every wheel has some failures, so it still isn't swaying me from possibly purchasing them.

Thanks! Post some pix when you get them installed.

Those appear to be 1.1's I wonder what the nature of the failure was. I find it hard to believe all of the spokes just failed even under track conditions...

Well I would consider that catastrophic failure, but like you said it happens. I destroyed a few stock Enkies on my CL Type S (I think it was 5)

Will do. They are identical in finish, diameter and width to this TD 1.2...

I had a set of Team Dynamics wheels on for my ACR Neon a few years back. Put them on the car the night before I was going to drive 4 hours to an out of state autocross. One of the tires (brand new) was low, so I pumped it up. Ended up checking the tire again awhile later, pressure was dropping again. I thought I might have a defective tire, but after taking it off and putting soapy water all around the tread and bead of the tire, I couldn't find the leak. It ended up being a casting flaw in the wheel itself where air was leaking out of the flaw in the barrel of the wheel. Team Dynamics warrantied the wheel for me, but I was out the cost of mounting and balancing the tire a 2nd time, as well as shipping back to TDR. The replacement wheel was ok, but I ended up selling them a year later. I'll personally stick with Enkeis and Kosie wheels, I've had multiple sets of each with zero problems.

I've damaged many an Enkei wheel, so I shy away. The Kosie's are very light but I don't like the looks so I am going TD.

The Pro Race 1.2 is available without the rim lettering. If you order a set, add the Spec 390 option from PCA. It is free/no charge.

I kind of like the name being on there, it's different.

The option to remove the lettering came about due to a very small percentage of customers who did not want it. PCA worked with Team Dynamics USA to come up with a solution for those who liked Team Dynamics/Pro Race 1.2 wheels, but were not buying due to the lettering.

Now there is something for everyone :) .
