No floor mats?

I just picked up my FR-S, And it did not come with floor mats. The sales man said they cost extra. I emailed the dealer ship and told them that the scion website says floor mats are standard. I got a call from a representative saying that they are not standard and need to be purchased separately. Now I ask you what should I do?

dnL 08-20-2012 08:27 PM

What... mine came standard. Only the trunk mat did I have to pay extra for.

I'd say you make some heads roll. :paddle:

wbradley 08-20-2012 08:32 PM

Out of curiosity, did you get a discount on the car? Reason I ask, I didn't get a price break but when I picked up the vehicle it had winter and summer mats and they installed wheel locks. I figured the locks and possibly the rubber mats were a courtesy item for a good (and obviously profitable) transaction and not mandatory.

4U-GSE 08-20-2012 08:36 PM

Floor mats came standard with my FRS. I ordered my FR-S with no addons. It came with 2 floor mats in the front that have FR-S in raised metal and 2 small floor mats in back.

If the dealership gives you any problems here is what I had to do when I had a part missing from my Corolla XRS. The strut tower brace was missing. The dealership claimed there was no strut tower brace on it from the factory. I called up Toyota corporate and spoke to their customer service and they were able to confirm that it was in fact standard from the factory and should be on the car. Toyota contacted the dealership about the "issue". An hour later the dealership called and said they had ordered the part for me at no cost and wanted to know when I could bring the car in.

Hope that helps.

roddy 08-20-2012 08:41 PM

I could be wrong, but I think floor mats are standard everywhere. Canadians get both summer (4) and winter (2) mats.

anteater86 08-20-2012 08:48 PM

Floor mats are standard!!!!!!!!!!

Only the carpeted trunk mat is an add on...

Your dealer is nothing but Grade A BULLPOO!!!!

Call them out on the forum, they deserve it.

Sigh-on-Rice 08-20-2012 09:04 PM

Mine came with floor mats and I got zero option.

JohnATL 08-20-2012 09:11 PM

Like everyone else has said, mine came standard.

driftartist 08-20-2012 09:13 PM

standard mate. go back there and kick their ass....i would

Willsonk 08-20-2012 09:16 PM

Mine came with mats, trunk mat, rear bumper applique & wheel locks. Didn't pay anything extra. Don't let them get away with it.

boucher 08-20-2012 09:21 PM

I'd make them give you the rear mat too, for your troubles.

feldy 08-20-2012 09:23 PM

Ya thats bull they are standard for sure. Do you have the window sticker still? It should even be listed on there.

driftartist 08-20-2012 10:11 PM

They should throw in a baseball cap too

whataboutbob 08-20-2012 10:33 PM

Mine came with mats too. I suspect they are full of S**T.

TemeCal 08-20-2012 10:51 PM

According to scion.com, they come as a standard feature:

Click here and look for Carpet Floor Mats

whateatsrabbits 08-20-2012 10:58 PM

The window sticker did not say anything about the mats. I did how ever have to pay 95 dollars for the trunk mat witch did come with the car:iono:. Yeah I figured I was going to have to contact headquarters on this one. Thanks for all the replies.

Dont forget to ask about a baseball cap

boucher 08-20-2012 11:01 PM

I'd have them refund the 95 bucks for the trunk mat, or ask for a few extra oil changes.

FR-S,M.D. 08-20-2012 11:04 PM

Standard. I got 4 summer mats, 2 front winter mats, and wheel locks free of charge. And I paid below MSRP too.

You are correct. OP, I'd call the dealer. Also, aren't they listed on your window sticker? I believe they were on mine, but I'd have to pull it out of "secure storage" to look at it.

I'd be scared to get the oil changes from them... They'd probably say that the filter wasn't included as "standard" with the change.

Went into the dealer today, pulled up next to some kid buying a AT:barf: FR-S, they didn't give him floor mats either. Well After showing my sales man the scion website he talked to the manager and I got my mats!:happyanim: They told me TC's don't come with mats and they thought the FR-S was the same way...

boucher 08-22-2012 01:03 AM

How's the ball cap treating you? You did get the baseball cap, right?

Mo707 08-22-2012 01:06 AM

I got all my mats.
Even my trunk mat. Didn't pay anything for them.

russv 08-22-2012 10:50 AM

Take the MSRP in. It should say standard.

wbradley 08-22-2012 01:27 PM

The owner of the dealership gave me a really nifty leather wrapped stainless "86" logo drinking bottle. Was that standard too?

Nah, but I did buy 2 cars for cash in 6 months without a whole lot of haggling. ;)

I'm assuming the mats get shipped with the FR-S.... so they have to go out of their way to remove them and hide them away in their parts inventory so they can try to sell them back to the buyers they stole them from.

They are full of it. They knew what they were doing.

Of course they did. Are we to believe not a single person at that dealership read the list of standard equipment at some point since the FR-S has been on sale? I hate liars.
