Hidden Features in the GR86/BRZ
I made a video highlighting all of the "hidden" features built into the 2022 GR86 & BRZ. Yes, some of these things can be found in the owner's manual, but some also aren't mentioned in there and who reads those things anyway?

Although nice this is about .01% of the info from the manual. |

Well those sonsobitches! They are blocking Canada from the downloads. That was the first place I looked and didn't bother reading the whole error message. Not a big deal since I have used the owner manual hub site for years since you can get just about anything there. |
Based on the video thumbnail I would say that using the trunk as a bed is definitely a hidden feature.

The modern infotainment systems are already so bad, laggy, and annoying as they are... add 430 pages to scroll through on a little screen and I'd be miserable. Besides, at no point would I see myself idling my car to read a manual or look for something in it. I'd far rather sit on a computer and read through it comfortably or use the find function to easily search for something specific. |

I think its more of a pain in the butt to search for stuff cuz you'd have to type in the letters one by one via idrive knob (or write the letter on the touch pad on the wheel) to find anything. But of course you'd skip right to the page if the search is accurate vs a paper manual going to the index and flipping pages. Might be faster with a touchscreen, but i dont think it'll be that much faster |

Or go to that Canadian site? https://www.toyota.ca/toyota/en/owners/manuals

There are references in the contents pages of these to both US and Canadian owners so it seems the manuals are common to both (no French translation here). |
Im sure this is something everyone knows, at least with the first gens and im sure it also applies with the second gen....but i just discovered this:
The window switches are backlit when the car is turned on (or just cuz i have my lights set to auto) But if you press the window lock button, it'll turn off the driver side and passenger side passenger window switch backlights so only the drivers window switch is lit. Unlock the windows and the passenger window switches will light up again. I thought this was a neat thing to indicate that the windows are locked. At first it scared me cuz i thought my window switch backlights got burned out already lol. |
