Rumble v2.4. Presenting the AWE Exhaust Suite for the Subaru BRZ and Toyota 86: https://youtu.be/Mg4Kj4PPwuY Overview:
https://youtu.be/MEFtG7lu7mk https://youtu.be/zzqESSckZSk Touring Edition Exhaust: https://www.awe-tuning.com/media/cat...15-33486_6.png https://www.awe-tuning.com/media/cat...15-33486_1.png The Touring Edition Catback is for drivers who like their BOXER rumble to be deep, hearty, and full of crackles all without any interior drone at cruising speeds. Comprised of 3” and 2.5” T304L stainless steel with a hefty wall thickness of .065”, the Touring Edition features a bullet-style resonator in the mid-pipe and a set of patented 180 Technology® resonators residing in the rear to decimate any drone-prone frequencies from the exhaust note while keeping the flow of power uninterrupted. Thanks to the design and construction of 180 Technology® resonators, the internals will not break down and degrade over time causing tone change. Full-bodied rumble for life from the point of installation. https://www.awe-tuning.com/media/cat...15-33486_7.png This configuration provides the best ratio of interior refinement and exterior rumble on the market. Perfect tone, compliments of AWE 180 Technology®. https://www.awe-tuning.com/media/cat...15-33486_4.png As exhaust gases exit the engine and flow into an AWE 180 Technology® equipped resonator, they pass through strategically located ports, and into reflection chambers. Sound waves, carried by these exhaust gasses, bounce off the walls of the reflection chambers. By controlling the size and location of the ports and the chambers, we also control when the sound waves exit the chambers. The specific timing of when the reflected sound waves rejoin the main exhaust flow creates a one-hundred-and-eighty-degree out-of-phase sound wave that cancels out problematic frequencies. Track Edition Exhaust: https://www.awe-tuning.com/media/cat...20-33279_6.png https://www.awe-tuning.com/media/cat...20-33279_1.png For those looking to crank it to 11 with no intention of turning it down, Track Edition is your dose of steel. https://www.awe-tuning.com/media/cat...20-33279_4.png The Track Edition retains all of the precision engineering from the Touring Edition, and the bullet-style resonator in the mid-pipe, minus AWE’s drone-canceling 180 Technology® resonators in the rear. The result? FA24 rumble with minimal filter, both in and out of the cabin, at all speeds. https://www.awe-tuning.com/media/cat...20-33279_7.png This version is known to get rowdy, and may be too much for many. For that reason, this particular version cannot be returned due to sound preference. Prepare yourself. Conversion Kits: We made it easy to convert from a Track Edition to a Touring Edition, or vice versa, if you decide at a later date to turn it up, or turn it down. https://www.awe-tuning.com/media/cat...10-11486_1.png https://www.awe-tuning.com/media/cat...10-11279_1.png Tip Options: All tip options include the AWE logo and double-walling to ensure a mirror finish even under hard usage. All tips are individually adjustable, allowing depth into the bumper to be set according to personal taste.

Complete Touring or Track Edition Exhaust, two 5” double-walled slash-cut tips in chosen finish, and all necessary hardware for installation. https://www.awe-tuning.com/media/cat...15-33486_5.png https://www.awe-tuning.com/media/cat...-33486_5_1.png https://www.awe-tuning.com/media/cat...32279_5png.png https://www.awe-tuning.com/media/cat...20-33279_5.png |

Sounds pretty good. Is the demo vehicle all stock, header included?

Thanks for the update! Love the sound, do you have dB measurements of each you can share?
|
Wow, this sounds great in the videos. Also +1 for black tips. This would definitely be high on my list if I owned a new gen.

Same here, but I’m actually worried it’s still a bit loud for my personal taste, although the tone is fantastic. Some dB measurements compared to stock would make that decision easier. |
OOOH. Me like. I think this will be the one I will get. Black tips are awesome.
Question- does the section of piping near the diff dip lower than stock? Or same amount of dip? Omer |
The Track-to-Touring conversion is honestly genius. What a way to think out of the box.
|
I ordered the Touring one in black, I'm tempted to also get the touring-to-track kit so I can try them both out but i don't think my wife will approve the extra spend haha.
I asked for dB levels in the other thread but they didn't have any. I have a dB meter so whenever I get mine, I'll do my best to record that and share. |

That’s great news, thanks for contributing to the community. Be sure to record a baseline with the stock exhaust! For the record, I find it hard to believe AWE does not have acoustic data, since they would have had to record the noise to evaluate which frequencies need canceling out (to size the 1/4 wave length of the 180* out of phase resonators), and then afterwards to confirm the resonance frequencies have indeed been quieted down. |

Shooting you a DM, we may have an extra Track conversion we can send your way so you are able to record the differences! |

I will let everyone know either way. |

Looks great and sounds killer from the video. Going straight on the 'buy' column of the excel build list :D
Also in for the db numbers; we have to keep things under 95 db in California and under 90 (or 92?) for Laguna Seca if you don't lift & coast near the sound station. |

Since it’s a catback there’s a really good chance it will fit the 2013-2016s too, nothing fundamentally changed about the hangers and the donut flange coming off the front pipe. |

Good looking product. Following for Db data and/or stock comparisons. Unless you're looking for additional testers who have Db meters that is....

13-16’ the exhaust is the same. 17+ have a wider flange at the mid pipe to muffler connection which is only an issue if you are doing axle back only. |
Do you plan to sell the muffler cutters alone? What's the intake diameter? Thanks!

Took the plunge on a track edition with black tips, will post up photos and videos once I take delivery and get it installed.

This system was designed to mate with the factory exhaust so the inlet is approximately 2.5" then opens up to 3" immediately after. Quote:

As promised here is our decibel information collected during testing;
We performed the SAE J149 standard to test dB. the BRZ tested at 96 dB during that test. This is on par with what we would expect from any aftermarket exhaust system. Keep in mind that if the parameters are anything but the SAE standard, that the number can be different. |

Awesome thanks! That’s the touring? |

Between Zygrene's video and the 96dB reading I'm personally going to pass on the Touring, too loud for what I'm looking for.
Are there any plans for an option that's quieter than the touring? |

Why are FT Speed's dB measurements so much higher than yours? Is that due to SAE standards you mentioned in a previous post? |

how prominent are the "crackles" on the touring? I've seen a few of the videos from guys running it and one guy said it was too much and 2 other videos didn't even mention it and seemed to not even have it much in the videos they put out. |
