it actually doesn't look too bad stock springs

sajonf 08-17-2012 09:13 PM

Yeah it doesn't look too bad with the stock springs. I think the one inch eibach drop will be just about perfect.

just86 08-17-2012 09:14 PM

are you putting it on yourself?

fluffy-reindeer-slayer 08-17-2012 09:52 PM

daaammmm, that looks good, I guess im not the only one who got five axis rims today,i got the r5f gunmetal, mine is raven as well, just waiting on the dealer to get the tires now.

fluffy-reindeer-slayer 08-17-2012 09:53 PM

so how much does it affect acceleration, handling, ect.... this is what i am worried about.

I haven't noticed a whole lot of difference except for the level of grip on the tires is so much better. Mine came with the all season Bridgestone Turanzas which suck.

I assume you are referring to the springs.. yes I am unless I can find a shop around here that will do it for around $200. With the amount of effort involved I will pay that amount to have it done. The local Scion dealer quoted me 1 1/2 hours per strut for $650... lol

fluffy-reindeer-slayer 08-17-2012 10:28 PM

ahh good to know, im waiting on the yokohama s drives

Kochinopride 08-17-2012 11:13 PM

I was so back and forth about this, but I'm going to get the S5:F 19" with 1" lower. These look awesome though!! SWEET!

tnt 08-17-2012 11:22 PM

:coolpics: very nice ! I'm getting S7:F as well with yokohama .... it's in but I'm awaiting on the 5 axis kit as well to install all at once.

I considered the S5F as well in gunmetal. They will look great - I look forward to seeing pics.

I'm thinking my 19's with 235/35's may not need a drop at all, looks good i'm thinking the look will be worth whatever small losses in performance i may get.

How is the ride on 19's?

Memphis 08-18-2012 02:55 AM

You would not have happend to weigh them would you?

encity5 08-18-2012 03:00 AM

These pics are the wheels without any drop?

Bmore_Raven86 08-18-2012 03:40 AM

its ok

I did. This wheel/tire combo weighed 51 lbs. vs. the stock 44 lbs.

The ride is very good. I was surprised that it is not much different than stock. It's a little stiffer due to less give in the side wall of the tires but to me that's a plus.

JoeBoxer 08-18-2012 10:39 AM

Sweet I can't wait to get mine now

THAT IS HEAVY. :confused0068:

tnt 08-18-2012 01:15 PM

Yup a bit heavy

bestwheelbase 08-18-2012 01:19 PM

Love this wheel!

Just wish it was a lighter 17" fitment.

At least they're working on 18" sets...

I thought the stock wheel and tire was closer to 40?

KritiK 08-18-2012 02:06 PM

very very nice rims, but they don't like 19's for me, if I just see the pic I would think they're 18's but as i said, very nice

tnt 08-18-2012 02:09 PM

They are working on 18 available soon

Not for the S7.

JoeBoxer 08-18-2012 03:33 PM

Can someone confirm the weight of the stock wheel and tire? My 19's should only be 45 lbs if thats only 1 over stock i'm going to be really happy.

sajonf 08-18-2012 03:50 PM

The weight thing... kind of like a dyno there are a lot of variables. I used a standard scale that i weigh my fat ass on. So i am sure it is not scientific. What it will show accurately is how they compare relative to each other. If the stock wheel and tire does indeed weigh 40 then figure this setup weighs 47 lbs.

Xanatos 08-18-2012 04:11 PM

When looking at the performance of specific set of wheels you cant just look at the weight. You can have 19's weight less than 17's but still have less performance. The reason for that being that the 19's will have more weight further from the hub center which means your drivetrain has to work harder to spin up a larger torque arm(lever/wheel) which means less power.

That being said I'd still want to put 19" S7:F's on mine when I get it. Anyone have pics of the gunmetal on Firestorm or Hot Lava?

I'm not saying I'm getting old, but this thing is already on the ground. I just want to take up a little wheel gap. a Prokit should accomplish this nicely, however I've heard stock struts have blown due to this very mod.

just86 08-24-2012 07:26 PM

where did you order with tires?
