After a longer drive (>20 min) I noticed that the seat was very uncomfortable. The side bolsters would push into the sides of my upper back, the shoulder bolsters pushed my shoulders and my lower back was killing me from the lack of lumbar support. I am about 6'2 240.
Took the BRZ to a local upholstery shop and they modified the the seat to my body. They shaved off some of the hard foam and replaced it with memory foam and added lumbar support. Now I can drive for hours comfortably. http://www.ft86club.com/forums/attac...1&d=1360686581 |
Nice! There's an upholstery shop right down the street from where I work. I wonder if I could trust them to put some more padding in the thigh area for me when I get one. My only complaint about the seat is that there's no rake adjustment so I can't get any thigh support.

At Ishii Motors getting HKS Legamax and KW Variant 3 installed. I highly recommend Ishii Motors for Pacific Northwesterners :-D

They took half and inch off the rear side bolsters and replaced it with memory foam. The lumbar is memory foam too. They did a real nice job and I will probably have some upholstery projects for them in the future. I wish we had adjustable extended thigh support for those with longer legs, can't think of a clever way to remedy that though. |
Can you take a sound clip of the Legamax for us? Right now there's only a tiny clip avail. from HKS but there's music playing over it; you really can't hear it well. And tell us how you like the sound! My friend and I might want a Legamax, too.

Gees, it's like you had a stack of money waiting to be thrown at a brand-new car when you got it! Must be nice!
love that exhaust! |

Just kidding, for the record I saved up for a long time and it's bought and paid for :w00t: |

I will take some video of it later when I have the chance though, but it would be from my smart phone and the sound probably won't translate well. |
Nice! Yours is the only other CBS Premium with spoiler added besides mine that I've seen here. Only difference is our transmissions.
:happy0180: |
Looks great! I've always thought black cars looked better with more chrome accents. I think you should get those installed too :paddle:
|
don't you just hate it when the tips isn't right in the middle, seem like the tips is more to the left, now I know what exhaust not to buy

Right now the compression and rebound are at the #8 settings, which is 8 from the softest setting. |
I've noticed that since lowering the car, stiffening suspension and running with stock tires, turns I used to take with predictable oversteer are now unexpected under steer. Not totally surprised knowing that primacy tires are low grip. Definitely more cautious on turns with these tires.
Looking forward to my new wheels and tires on Monday! |
very cool!!! congrats nice parts ;)

Just got $1.00 cash in the mail from JD Power to take their survey for the BRZ :D

damn that thing is low, looks good though.
|
Looking good man. What tint% do you have? You should also think about tinting out your side markers.

I would like to add that I bought these wheels from Custom Wheels Outlet (CWO) on eBay (http://stores.ebay.com/customwheeloutlet). I received the wheels without hubcentric rings. I called CWO and spoke with Nate, who is shipping me free TSW Hubcentric rings. Nate was knowledgable and nice, will definitely be doing business with them again. CWO also had a killer deal on these wheels on eBay and they shipped quickly via UPS.
FYI, if you purchase from CWO, call them and let them know what car you have so they can add the hubcentric rings with your purchase. |
wowww I like

Give this thread a read. It should give you some good direction when fine tuning your coilover setup to get some of that predictability back. I think a little bit more overall ride height and an alignment would definitely be beneficial. |

After installing the new wheel/tires, stiffened the rear suspension slightly, added some negative camber to front tires, it is more predictable and neutral steering. I haven't gotten an alignment yet because my hubcentric rings are coming in (didn't come with the wheels), so I am sure it will only improve handling. I'll write up a follow up after hubcentric are installed and wheels aligned. Thanks! |
I've had my eyes on those wheels for some time, but I'm faced with the dilema of purchasing grey wheels that could over "mono chrom" an Asphalt car. If a can't get hyper black, then I'll go bronze or perhaps boring silver for a bit of contrast.
|
Hyper black would be pretty awesome, I contemplated black powdercoating the wheels.
Bronze looks real good IMO, I just wanted something more low key and matte gun metal fits the bill. |
What is the highest setting you can set on those KW V3's? Your drop looks fantastic, it's just that I don't know if I could daily drive the car when it sits that low. Also, how hard was it to tint the rear window? Did you have the 3rd brake light removed to do it?
|
Quote:
My tint guy didn't seem to have any issue installing the tint with the brake light (wasn't removed it broken either, as far as I know). |

I think I might be riding much lower than I would prefer right now. I'm considering raising it 0.5" to maintain the stock suspension geometry. Right now it's running a lot more negative camber than I want / need on the rears. If suspension geometry wasn't an issue, I love the ride height. Right now, my BRZ sits at about 1.75" and I want to be at about 1"-1.25". |
Om Nom Nom... looks so good! Any chance the Subaru center caps fit on the TSW's? That'd rock if they did!
