Just drop this here until I can get the higher resolution photos

Previously, and probably still known as the Asphalt from Saskatchewan (as no one else on this forum has registered another asphalt here), my car needs a renewed build thread as it has come a long way from its humble roots. SkAsphalt 08-21-2012 01:29 PM

Hey I finally got a date for my car! September 14th!

So by then I will have all of my parts in my house waiting to be installed! I will probably end up ordering more for it too...LED DRL's and maybe some other cosmetic ideas are nice

Mr.Jay 08-21-2012 01:32 PM

wait you don't have a car yet but we have the same mods? haha i love it performance mods before the car even shows up. you are going to have a hard time with break in. haha can't wait to see your build.

empower-auto 08-21-2012 01:39 PM

Get the Perrin pulley through Chris @ Titan Performance on here. Price was awesome.

SkAsphalt 08-21-2012 02:00 PM

That is who I got my pulley from! Got that and the shorty antenna :happy0180:

And yes Mr. Jay... I do not even have my car yet lol. By the time it is broken in and I am installing my parts the leaves will be falling off and I will be drifting through fall :burnrubber:

Wolfking 08-21-2012 02:21 PM

Semi congrats! How you can sleep is beyond me!

SkAsphalt 08-23-2012 03:20 PM

mmm I am thinking of picking up some of these and installing them on my car for the winters (just in case I need some help out of the snow) but I wonder if anyone has made bumper port covers that have a perfectly cut out hole for tow straps yet

http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/oncirr...tow_straps.jpg

I could see people using these at the track and it would be pretty nice if I could just buy clean OEM looking bumpr plug covers as opposed to cutting my stock ones....

The main reason why I think this would be a good idea is because I have seen too many cars damaged by people hooking up tow lines to the wrong part/under the bumper incorrectly and then just ripping stuff off.

SkAsphalt 09-04-2012 07:27 PM

Quick little update, more parts have arrived
my EUCtek cable has arrived and I am preparing my Macbook Pro for a nice windows installation and my Airaid intake showed up today too! So now I have everything in BUT my Car (the biggest part here...really) and my SRT exhuast.

Slowly but surely! Will be one hell of an install once the car is broken in. Next spring when I sell my corolla I will probably pick up K3's because they seem to be the kit of choice for an awesome drop.

JPxM0Dz 09-04-2012 07:34 PM

Gonna have to make a trip into Regina once you have your car ;)

empower-auto 09-04-2012 07:38 PM

Mr.Jay 09-04-2012 10:15 PM

Or Vancouver. I want to check out my cars twin brother :D

Shagaliscious 09-04-2012 10:42 PM

Just a FYI, the car comes with a tow hook in the trunk. So you will have one in case you get stuck.

SkAsphalt 09-05-2012 07:17 PM

Oh really? awesome! that is good news! Thanks :D

Sure thing. When someone mentioned it on here, I had to run out to my car to check. There is also a phillips head screwdriver back there:thumbsup:

SkAsphalt 09-14-2012 02:34 AM

Since you already bought the SRT headerback exhaust before you got the car, how does it actually sound?
I'm still trying to make up my mind on what exhaust to get. I've seen a lot of them on the forums, but a few sound very ricey and buzzy.
Does the SRT have a deeper/throatier growl like kinda how you hear what it sounds like inside the car, or is it still a bit buzzy as well?

updated with some photos in 2nd post and updated first post to clarify what I have done so far.

Silverdub 09-24-2012 07:41 AM

I love those leds in the cabin, i think that i should get a set

SkAsphalt 09-24-2012 12:10 PM

They are great for visibility BUT be wary of which one you buy. To be honest, the one I got from automation is super cheap quality and I was quite unimpressed with it. I will update this poster later with pictures of my install and you will laugh/be disgusted with the amount of electrical tape I had to use to clean up the panel and its unnecessarily long cables and such.

so you got that light from a member on here? cant wait to see more pics and the review!

SkAsphalt 09-24-2012 01:35 PM

I am at ~1150km now. Getting closer to breaking her in. I raised my shift light to 4,500 rpm now. (though of course I have gone up to 5-6 thousand a few times...its too fun not too. but still less than 5 occasions)

Awesome that you have so many km on it so soon. I have had mine for a little over a month and I am only about 200 km ahead of you. Happy for you not having to wait for what seems like an eternity. My work commute is less than 20 km round trip. Make sure you snap a pic when you hit 1600 km.

Haha, yeah I have mine set to 4500rpm also. I'm really emberassed to say I just cracked 1300Km today. The emberassing part is I've had the car since June 28 :bonk:

EDIT: Just noticed you also have your Airaid installed, mine is still sitting in box, hope to install it by the weekend ;)
Roadtrip needed :burnrubber:

I think my commute is around 25-30km so I get that on the car everyday, also because I live in a bedroom community there is nothing to actually do in my town so in the evenings I tend to head back into Regina for sports, the gym, to see my friends etc. Miles add up quick! I will be sure to snap a picture! I will crest 1200 today..so maybe get the other 400 by the end of this weekend.

I was just told by Mo at Swift Racing Technologies that my exhaust will be shipped out tomorrow :party0030: Super hyped! Should make the drives through autumn leaves that much funner. I plan on doing 2 weeks of driving on the exhaust (a tank or two of gas) before doing the ECU Flash. This way I can see what my car was like after break in, but before the flash. Get a grasp for what I have throughout my full RPM range, not just 0-5000. At that point I will also install the Perrin pulley. I am excited to see how it all goes. :happyanim:

It took me about 1.5 hours to install myself. I am sure everyone could do it faster than I did, but I took my time and had some struggles fitting pieces, which is good cause everything fits perfectly and I am not having any problems with my intake.

Yeah I'll be taking my time also on install ;)

Still waiting for my cable and tune to show from Visconti

JPxM0Dz 09-25-2012 05:52 PM

Installed my intake at lunch today, everything went ok, but your right about everything was tight fitting ;)

SkAsphalt 09-26-2012 05:16 PM

Well I am over 1300 KM now.. so just another 300 to go before I install more engine parts. I may flash the engine soon as I break it in, and then put the exhaust on after... probably what I will do lol. I am also considering ordering the front white marker lights (and subsequently slapping some LED's in them)

thoughts?

I thought of swapping out the side markers also, but I kinda like the yellow on WRB look ;)
As far as leds go, definitely!

JPxM0Dz 09-27-2012 12:52 PM

Is that a block heater cord I see hanging out of the front grill ? ;)

Subaru dealer doesn't even have mine yet, said they should have them in a weeks time. Not that it matters too much as I will parking my BRZ over the winter

SkAsphalt 09-27-2012 02:34 PM

haha yes it is. pretty sure I was not even charged for it. so that's nice

I went ahead and ordered some LED turn signals for out back *don't quite know why* and some switch back LED's for up front. Will look great with my HID's once I get them installed.

Yeah I have those also on front and rear. Big improvement over stock. Swapped out my fog lamp bulbs today for some 6000k SMD Cree bulbs, they match my 6000k D4S HIDS quite nicely ;)

Installed my Perrin light weight pulley today. Between that and switching back my front parking light bulbs to the stock ones (stupid me and my wrong chrome bulb order) , it took me less than 40 minutes to do all of the work! That crank bolt sure is tight!

As it should! ;) Did you need to remove the intake or did you have room to work ? Looks like there's room as we have the same setup. I need to install my pully
