For sake of this Ill be looking at fa20s, there is nothing to stop you from sharing your results though. I'd still find your results to be interesting, fa20 or swapped is a go

I'm probably pushing 190whp. Let me know if you want to race

You'll have to specify the dyno and conditions for a meaningful survey.

Ill leave that one to your discretion, my dyno knowledge is limited

On 1 pull on a dyno never to actually be used after?
At least one 1/4 mile run putting down a trap that reflects?
Daily rev limiters?
Tracked? Garage queened?

Way to many variables to have any meaningful numbers posted without context.

I believe some people have hit 500s on a dyno. But either blew shortly after or never actually made 500 on the street.

A reliable daily driven, multiple redline pulls a day for years to come. if you can do that on 450whp all the time that would be impressive.

Have fun with it, he's obviously going to come up with a story of how he's building the highest horsepower car in the world. Then after he buys wheels, he'll link us to his YouTube channel and say to follow the build

Can we show squirrel power instead? I don't like using HP since the number is so low it makes me feel inadequate. Maybe I should see a doctor.

series420 03-22-2021 05:57 PM

HP is numeric, lets keep the responses numeric lol

weederr33 03-22-2021 06:13 PM

I was last dyno'd at 176whp and 146lb/ft of torque. So... pretty modest. I plan to do another dyno run at the same shop now that I have flex fuel available.

That almost never happens.

NoHaveMSG 03-22-2021 06:21 PM

If you really want to make the most HP need to make sure you have blue painters tape and some mediocre fiberglass skills. That is an inside secret, don't tell anyone.

Well over 500whp.
Good luck. Let us know when you get over 500whp.

whataboutbob 03-22-2021 08:47 PM

From what I have seen during my time on this platform high HP motors don't last very long. Good luck.

Tonrogs 03-22-2021 08:48 PM

Hoping to dyno mine this summer. Been running 26psi for over a year now. No issues, but everything was replaced in the drivetrain to support it.

Never said I would build to peak HP. As I said, just wanted a benchmark.

Fast dont last

soundman98 03-22-2021 11:07 PM

i put some stickers on my car, so i'm pushing at least 400hp. changed the license plate frame and gained another 75. so i'm at 475 right now.

just wait until i change the chromies on my valve stems!

200+ or - 5 bhp at the wheels on E85 with headers is a good benchmark. You'll achieve this with your headers and an OFT off the shelf tune. It's been done many many times with graphs to prove it.

While theres a lot of truth and science behind that... its still more fun than " but look at how much camber i have bro"

stance = nothing in the pants..

Damn that is crazy for an FA, wonder what it cost to build.

I remember spitfire481's build that pulled 666hp at 28psi and he ran out of injector. Then he broke a set of DSS axles, then the oil pump exploded and he ended up 2j swapping it. That was the previous highest HP FA I had ever found online.

235 running 91 gas, 310 with e85. Dyno sheets are out there somewhere, I think in old dyno day thread in Nor Cal section.

Spell changer changes dyno to dunk. I wish I had a doughnut with my coffee now.

Just shows it's easy to get high HP, once. The issue is getting something you can run twice. There's a reason top fuel dragsters are rebuilt after every run.

Im probably from this point only going to supercharge and be done, 300 HP is a nice chunk with such a light platform

RToyo86 03-23-2021 12:25 PM

I don't think there are many people that push tons of power on the FA20 that hang out on these forums.
Most who want power don't want to deal with FA problems anymore and spend the value of the car putting something else in it.

There's a 2J car in locally that pushes 1000hp. It's being detuned because it's useless to drive. Can't even hook on the highway.

235 is nice. The 310 is fun once in a while, but hard not to just spin tires. Need to know how to steer with feet. 911 experience comes in handy.

I’ve got 286 whp on our Dyno Jet.

Yep, and FullBlown did their 700HP experiment as well. Honestly, my guess is it wasn't all that expensive to build. I mean certainly not cheap at all, I just mean it probably didn't cost anymore than an LS swap, probably cheaper. But like you said, you slap in all the most important supporting mods, and it still won't last.

https://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=51890

I was always curious how LA SLEEVE's build held up and if it still runs today as they did a pretty decent job and the HP levels are not as overwhelming - maybe more realistic for a peak on this car that could potentially last.
