*Meet Up & Events* Vancouver FR-S/BRZ Members Thread
 

Since there isn't a meet up thread for the 604 location, I will make one here. I know there is the Vancouver chat thread but things get too confusing there. Here, we can post meets/events ONLY.
(Easier to keep track of attendance)


Make sure you keep these in mind if you plan on organizing a successful meet...

1. Pick a location that is convenient for everyone in the area; easy to access/find, and plentiful of parking space. (Try to avoid downtown/pay parking type of areas)

2. Pick a time and date that is best for everyone; weekend (Fri,Sat & Sun) afternoons are usually the best times if you want a decent number of attendance.

3. If you are organizing the meet, responsibilities are on you; which means, you have to
(a) follow through with the meet,
(b) make reservations if it's a lunch/dinner meet (if necessary),
(c) try to discourage a rowdy crowd which makes them a target for police/property owners.

Finally; remember, you are representing this car community (FT86) driving the FR-S/BRZ. Please be responsible at all times; those who get out of hand should be asked to leave for the safety of everyone else including the general public.

We do not condone drinking and driving; so please don't drink if you do drive. BE A MAN, DO THE RIGHT THING!

and there will definitely be ZERO parking at matsuyama, better to just walk across from lansdowne, I dont believe Lansdowne security has ticketed anyone..

Yeah we won't be able to park there but Lansdoenw is always free and has lots of space

I'll be there for sure will look at this thread closer after work is done

I will have to double check what the weekend looks like but if I am free I'll be there.

I will be at the meetup but I have a friends birthday that night so I might not be able to stay long. Nevertheless, we are up to 2 FRS's and 1 BRZ!!:party0030:

Edit: I might try to bring another FRS along, although he is a friend of a friend so it isn't too likely.

BTW, Jeff...since you've been there before; do you know if I should call in to see if they take reservations?
(I guess that also depends how many people we end up gathering...)

Not if we are going at 6pm. The cheaper late night starts at 9pm if you want to do that or not. If we do late night they won't take reservations but we should be fine if we arrive early considering that our current number of attendees is 3 haha

Yeah... Oh well, next time I'll make sure to plan 2 weeks in advance for a meet so people have time to commit.

To All: Anyways; do you guys prefer the early 6PM time or the "late night" deal? I think we can do either considering the list is quite short right now... XD

Might be able to come, not sure yet but I will give the word out in next couple of days. Might also bring someone with an MR2, if that's okay =)

Awesome! No problem with the MR2! I think we may need a head count soon; if they do require reservation.

Have family gathering at night:( I might show up around 6:30 for half an hour. Don't wait for me.

We will most likely continue sticking around after dinner (depends who would still be up for it); maybe pool at eSpot, BBT, or something afterwards. :iono:

Yeah must likely I wouldn't mind chilling a bit. These meets will get better once more people become aware of this site. I have told a couple more random owners I see.

I think it would be easier if you guys picked a place to eat that wasn't a sit down place and had a big parking lot. Like a burger place or something. Easier to organize, don't have to worry about tables and such.

I might be able to go.. But cant stay for dinner tho.

Damn guys! I have plans already for Saturday entirely. I'm autocrossing in the morning and going out with friends already in the evening. I wish I would have seen this earlier.

I can make Sunday during the day if you guys wanted. I'll still through out the suggestion of gokarts if you guys want to go!

but I can't make Sunday. I'm too busy racing for Scion Racing!! I've won $600 bucks so far and trying for more this weekend. Also, this weekend I will be taking video recordings of my runs from inside the car. If you guys want to see them, they will be posted to youtube under my bneale84 account.

Alright troops! I've JUST made reservations for 10 at 18:30 hours (6:30 PM)! So if you are bringing an extra person; we're still good! (Got extra seats just to be on the safe side)

Pre-meetup at Richmond Lansdowne Parking Lot; North-East corner nearest to Alderbridge Way and Kwantlen Street at 6PM SHARP.
Extra half an hour to wait for the late comers to show up while we can chat and socialize...

Then we can all walk across Alderbridge way to the restaurant...Most likely there won't be enough parking for all of us inside their own little lot; Plus we wanna avoid door-bangers ;)
