To trade or nah
Was at a dealership yesterday and have been thinking about trading my 2013 frs for a 2015 charger. 63k vs 129k. I like the space in the charger but feels like a boat! Also have eyes on a srt4 waiting to hear back from seller. Thoughts?

No thoughts on this.

i've been thinking of trading my ranger for a barge lately as well.
turns out, there's some issues registering a barge for road use though. |
the 86 and charger are literally on opposite ends of the car spectrum. the 86 is a subtle, nuanced driver-focused ninja-like car.
the charger is a freaking antique e-class tank, designed originally for occupancy comfort away from the noise of the irritating world, and altered by dodge for insane straight line power, which means that it turns despite it's preference. the charger/challenger owners i've met, the nice ones are a minority. i believe you must pick up your local mopar group sticker when you register your plates, and sign a release saying you'll talk down to any imports upon registering. |
What “Charger”? There are like 20 trim levels with some being pretty decent (For what they are) and some being totally abysmal.
Just don’t get black because having traffic hit the brakes and slow down every single time you come up behind the gets old fast. https://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=90787 |
Wait, so you would be trading in for a Charger that has double the mileage of your FR-S? Yeah, I would not entertain that thought. Only way I would get a Charger is if it is new and nothing lower than a Scat Pack.

That sounds like a really stupid idea just from a practical standpoint, unless they are paying you money for the swap. And I think this is like the 5th post where I've used the word "stupid" on this forum.
You are going from a relatively low mile (mostly) Subaru to a high mile FCA. :slap: If you give some more information on why you want to trade, maybe folks will offer more constructive thoughts and alternatives. |
The model is an se. Granite in color. My scion is becoming a paper weight.

If space is your ultimate goal, which it sounds like it, yes go right ahead.

One of my former coworkers has a newer (2017?) Charger V6. He regrets it and enjoys driving his Dart more. He recently traded the Charger in for a Chrysler 300. Sounded like a V8 to me. He is much happier with the 300, and I'm guessing it's mostly the V8.
So unless your FR-S is inoperable (not really sure what you meant by a paper weight), I would really think about it. Ultimately it is your call, but it would be terrible if you did do the trade, and that Charger starts giving you issues. |

Then sell it and invest the money in highly leveraged derivatives. Buy a new Ferrari before Xmas. |

I think the OP is trolling, such a nonsense first post.
|
Someone I know of on another forum got himself a used Dodge Magnum wagon.
Since then, nothing but shit-show problems with the transmission and electronics. Won't sell it due to taking a bath, given what he paid for it. Can't get it running without spending even more. |
On the road again. It's not my daily currently

Instead of a paper weight he'll end up with a boat anchor. |
OP has like one braincell.

The v6 charger is surprisingly sluggish off the line. Feels like it doesn’t have enough low end torque for its weight. The v8 charger is much better. If you want the full charger/muscle car experience, I’d highly recommend the v8.

If you want to try another car then go ahead and trade it.
