Initial D Stage 5 release this year!
From the email I received from an Initial D discussion board:
Breaking news!! Initial D Fifth Stage has been confirmed!! Join us on Initial D World Forums ( http://idforums.net ) to talk about the latest Initial D series today! (Confirmed to air on Nov 9, 2012)(possibly November 4th now) Dear Initial D World Members, After what seemed like an eternity (six years) after Fourth Stage, we've just confirmed on Aug 6, 2012 (Japan Time) the official release of Initial D Fifth Stage!! It will be aired on a pay-per-view basis on Perfect Choice TV (Animax) on November 9th, 2012. Please visit our forums ( http://idforums.net )for more information on the latest Initial D series! Details: After six years of impediment, the latest Initial D installment will be broadcast as the Pay-Per-View on Animax (Perfect Choice Premier) exclusively before the DVD release. The broadcast schedule will be different to that of Fourth Stage. It will air TWO episodes every month. For example, Fifth Stage Episode 1 - 2 will air on November 9th; Episode 3 - 4 will air in December and so on. Each viewing will be ¥840 ($10.69) for two episodes. The official theme song "Raise Up" will be performed by the group M.O.V.E. Thought some on here would like to know. |

Is Takumi going to drive a Toyota 86 now?

Looking forward to it but 2 episides a month is going to be painful. Of course I also want to see the 86 as a main car but I can't decide if I want it to be Takumi's.
|
The anime follows the manga story line and there are plenty of races left for Project D. There's no way the GT86 would make it into Stage 5...
|
Since the Manga has continued and still uses the AE-86, I doubt it will be our ride.
In case you guys don't read the Manga, the last few I read have Takumi getting ready to go up against another Trueno. Also, there was a long stretch of issues with Ryoske's (sp) FC up against his old nemesis. Far more serious than any other race to date. Not sure if Stage 5 will make it that far. |
I don't read the manga. Makes sense though. The last series seemed to leave some things unanswered.
|
It ended with him messing around in the old man's Subaru. It may take up from there.
|
Manga already determines what will probably occur

Rumor has it the GT86 in Initial D animation flavor will make an appearance this year through Avex, most likely thought the new music video by Move - Rise Up. and not Initial D the series.

Hope to see the C-One MR-S, 350Z, and NSX Type-S Zero battle in full animation. I think those cars were not too far after 4th stage ended.
|
Epic. Although I doubt the GT86 will be Takumi's ride... I bet Wataru will probably buy one to replace his old blown hachi. It's most likely if any one of the characters is to get a GT, it's going to be Wataru.

MY SIGNATURE WILL HAVE MEANING AGAIN! :D
|
Somebody make a countdown on the site so every1 is aware of when it all begins.
|
can. not. freaking. wait.
but I'm really scared this is a false alarm. :/ better be able to get this as it's released in Australia! |
Where can i see the episodes on cable or direct tv? Is there a channel called animax?
|
Hmm may decide to re-watch season 1, 2, 3 (movie), and 4, but I gotta catch up where I left off from the manga.
|
It's about time! 4th Stage came out when I was still in high school!

The manga is nearly 200 issues ahead of the end of Stage 4. I would think there is enough for two seasons, based on the number of issues but if they do another movie or compress the story all into one season....
I am just glad it is on the way. |

Are there any details on the length? 13 eps? 26? 50?
|
Ichi, I don't understand your position. If Stage 4 ended at vol 30 and they are at 45 by your count, then there would be enough for 2 stages and right in line with my statement. I read scans online and the last one went up this week and is labled vol.619 fwiw. www.mangapanda.com is the site I use but be warned, I have had trojans try to load on my system from that site in the past, I suspect from the advertising servers/services they use.
Dori, no details on how many episoded that I have seen. All 4 stages have been different lengths so it could be any of the above or something else entirely. |

Just say, 5th stage anime series do another 24 episodes. Which means, they gotta use 16 vols of manga. If they follow same amount of race as 4th stage. |
I get where you are coming from. Still, they did the first three stages out of 193 chapter volumes. If Stage 5 covers the all the Kanagawa region battles, then you are on the right track since they are just getting to the final battle of the region now.
