I think a battery bank will help you out more, less of a risk of your battery dying out when your charging a phone. Unless you need something specific for that port.

I don't actually think that is a good idea...

it's only a good idea for those that like a random tickle!

Why not? It wouldn't work any differently than having one plugged in eternally. Except it would be nicely hidden. The port could charge too a full cell or two even with the car off.

If you kill a car battery by charging a phone you have some serious issues with the system.

I had the ignition in for like 10mins or so, albiet a few days back I did kill the battery leaving the cabin lights on all night (let's be honest that happened twice, 1st time was a few months back). Haven't had anything happened since.


And if you ask, how'd I leave it on? Sometimes you forget to turn around to check. And I might be do for a new battery soon last I remember too

I left mine on for two days once and it still started but that was probably more just luck than anything.
