Snoopy's Blog
Well i have always given the honor to my wife to naming my cars. Some have bad some good. She decided to name my GT, Snoopy. She thinks it looks like the cartoon character...
Anyway happy wife = more parts. Car is at the dealership at the moment in Sydney. Leather has just been completed on the seat, tints, staying with the 16" mags for now but have changed them to Bridgestone Super Sport 3. I want to use the same money i was on suspension and mags on a turbo. So far Don from Accelarated performance has done a good but LHD. Next ... Well lets get the car first. It should be shipped soon. |
Congrats on the car man. Don will definitely have a Rhd kit soon plus down the track there will be local vendors with SC / Turbo kits....
|
Same car as me, except your getting leather :D
i think you will change your tune about the wheels, dont get me wrong, i think they look better than the 17's but there is not enough grip. a couple times now i have found the front sliding b4 the rear. |

Considering you will need Turbo Intercooler Piping Standalone ecu (or a flash tuner) Tuning time Then you might want injectors Exhaust Muffler Cold air intake There maybe 6K in parts alone let alone fabrication and installation time. |
Post picks of your seats when they are done, curious what it will look like.
Whats the tyre size? |

That is true, that is why I choose a GT over a GTS, saving me approx $6k. PLUS saving on weight as well. I am aware that the turbo kit is not cheap but I am already $6k in bank from the GTS and the only things I would take from the GTS is the white guages and the climate control, so if there is any GTS owners converting their GTS to a race and ditching them, PM me. I do agree the extras on the GTS was nice but saving the extra weight is a bonus and I get a canvas that I will build as I want over time, e.g. leather seats. This is no different than any other that person seeking more power. So yes, turbo kit and all the performance stuff will cost a left nut, but I choose to start with GT instead of GTS and be ahead $6k put aside for the turbo. |
Budget for 9-10k

These are the interior shots, the reason it looks a bit yellow is the flash going off.
Color: Tan Leather: Wollsdorf. The only issue I have is the rear middle section, which I have been advised that is part of the car structure. Once that is done I am getting alcantara for the rest of the car. Damn I cannot wait to see it. |

I have some good mountains behind the house. Will have to test your grip theory :) |
that leather looks wicked! - love that, looks ferrari esque... always wanted a car with a tan interior like that.
Toyota dealership doing that for you? - mind if I ask how much? cheers! |
It is the same company supplying Bently and Ferrari.

That looks superb.

The company that did the leather, did they offer any options with what you can have done? I'd love to be able to spec my own interior.
|
To be honest I am not sure, but it probably can be done. Had no input. Dashboard costing will be on the high side because they will have to remove it first then wrap, then reinstall. The other issue that was encountered was the rear centre tunnel. It is carpeted. I'll have a better idea of how it all fits and compltee leather then

Got the car and finished work early so I can register it.
The leather, what can I say. Words cannot describe. The feeling is sooooooo nnnnnniiiicccccceeeeee. There are some issues that I would like to address on it though. First up, the door piece does not look right. They should have covered the around that area as currently it does not look right. Next will be the the top of the dashboard, but it does not look to bad. How does it look. With the leather, like a mini Austin from the front. Also car is tinted you can barely see the leather. I also like the GT lights as well as it does not seem to distract the looks of the car with the LED. It seems to blend with the car, please no bashing, my personal opionion. Before I got my current family car, new baby, I had a R32 skyline with Tein racing suspension. I can say that the standard setup with the Super Sport3 tyres, this car seems to be better with the little chucking around the corners I have done so far. Standard Interior: Wife asked why it does not g and the dash seems too bland and why there is no sporty lights. She also asked where the heated seats where and why I did not get the ones with heated seats. ANSWER: weight and waiting list. Next mod in the near future though is the GTS dashboash, anyone willing to part with theres :) Car was not washed from the dealer so went out and got a waterblaster with the foamer and varible pressure and meguires Gold shampoo, much better. Kim from RedlineCarCare coming next Friday to detail and 1st stage paint correction. I noticed as I washed the car the bonnet had some hard sediment on it. Did not want to remove till Kim looked at it. The sounds cheap, can the standard headunit accept an amp?? Also there is a cable in the glove box, anyone knows what this is for?? First mod: Visconti STG1 tune. On its way to Oz. |

Never got a cable in my glove box .. |
mmm love the leather. Any idea if I can contact the dealer to get some made for me? I want black leather though
|
The company is called ammon leather. They stock about 6 versions of black. Schwartz was true black and it is also perforated as well. But after seeing mine i am happy i did not choose perforatred.
I would recommend it to anyone except for those few issues i have |

There are also companies that can modify your head unit to have RCA connections so you can run a cheaper amp if you want to. Cost again is usually $180. Frank |
