Non of those lines look Honda to me.

spike021 05-22-2020 03:17 PM

I realize it’s camouflaged on purpose but absolutely none of that looks even the slightest bit good. Massively turned off right now.

R_E_L 05-22-2020 04:17 PM

Wow that looks massive.

From the front it looks like a BMW, and not just because of the faked grill. Everything forward of the windscreen shouts BMW to me.

If that's all camo, they did a good job with it.

NoHaveMSG 05-22-2020 04:39 PM

It looks like a current CTR with a duct tape body kit to me :iono:

Ha, I got the same impression for the front-end. Yeeep. They did a _really_ good job. Only problem is, maybe too good a job since I feel like it's ugly enough to catch more eyes, lol.

weederr33 05-22-2020 07:13 PM

R_E_L 05-22-2020 09:18 PM

Amazing how different it looks when they cover up the 198 fake vents!

Mike_ZN6 05-23-2020 12:01 AM

This is what I see when I look at the current CTR:

197 vents, don't be over dramatic.

You need to look behind the fake vents to find the other fake vents.

tehShirt 05-23-2020 09:15 AM

Looks like a Honda Accord Type R. I'm personally holding off though until the Odyssey Type R.

I didn't feel even the slightest jewel reaction, be it a Honda, BMW, or whatever.

def appreciate them toning it down this time around. helps the overall design to be less chunky. cleaner and longer/sleeker taillights (the idea reminds me of what the next gen 86 is trying to achieve from the side. rear straight on view of the taillights has very porsche like essence to it. especially thanks to that all the rage lightbar)

also minus the fake vents in the rear is a plus. also loved how they stretched out and better integrated the c pillar with the rest of the rear end (simplified by lessening the effect of the kink and making the beltline flat while also integrating the trunkline with the outline of the window)

creases arent as aggressive this time around which im all for. everything these days is too dyanmic.

again appreciate toning it down in the front but from a side view the front looks a little lumpy/chunky up top between the headlights

overall well done i think. a type r version i think would be slick

It will be good looking I think, but I would prefer more aggressive. The people that buy Type-R's want aggressive if you ask me. The people that say they want it toned down were never going to buy a Type-R.

God, I want to put a wing and aftermarket headlights on my car, wrap it in camo, and see how many articles come up about my next model year whatever car they think it is.

With mystery comes collossal power!

jflogerzi 10-10-2020 02:08 PM

Reminds me of a baby version of the new rsx/tsx a-spec which is not a bad thing

I was telling a guy at work that it would be great if I could get the same camo pattern wrap for my car to feed the rumor mill.

Throw a Genesis badge on it.

mn_ca 10-10-2020 02:45 PM

I was going to wait and see what it looks like before making a decision. At this point, I might just actually consider buying the 20 if the next R looks like that. Too much Accord in it.

Aggressive doesn't have to equal ugly.

The CTR is ugly. I wouldn't even call it aggressive, just ugly and fake like the new Zupra.

I prefer this new one if it looks remotely like the renders, not that I'd buy one anyways. US Type-R's died after 2001 ;)

We could do the great FT86 prank of 2020! Get as many people as we can to do it worldwide.

Meh, as usual, looks are subjective. I love how it looks. Haters gonna hate.

WolfpackS2k 10-16-2020 04:00 PM

You're welcome to appreciate how it looks. But fake is fake, that's not really an opinion - it's a fact. Most people would also consider it very aggressive and tacky looking. And I can't help but think that nobody thinks this car's design will age well.

And historically speaking, Type Rs have had none of that in their styling. Function over form. Handsome and understated styling.

HKz 10-16-2020 04:30 PM

lol guess for my generation especially being into gundams/mecha, the type-r, or rather the current civic gen's front end in general, has always looked pretty cool. not handsome perhaps, but still fun to look at :) i could care less about "fake" as long as it looks good or cool..

You're just old. I never said there wasn't fake grilles, I said it wasn't ugly.

Who is most people to you? The people on this forum haha. The only thing tacky here is your attempts at knocking something you don't like.

I much agree with you here. I could do without "fake", but in this case it helps to create the aggressive angles that I really like, especially on the Red CTR's.. Think MSN-06S Sinaju...

Honda was even doing a collab with Evangelion, I'm not sure how far it went though. It's clear they know who they are selling to, and it ain't many people on this forum.

The car would then have blast processing!

And it'll be spun into some kind of buzzword for an advanced mechanical diff or next gen turbo or something.
