it’s a shame there’s no STi body kit

I used to have a 4th gen Eclipse and remember how gorgeous the RalliArt concept was and thinking it’s a shame that it’ll never come to market. But somebody did make an aftermarket kit that looked like it. Not quite as nice as the concept of course, but it was what you’d probably see if it the RalliArt mode did come to market.

The 2015 BRZ STi concept looks stunning and I’m not surprised it never came to market but I’m surprised nobody in the aftermarket ripped it off... or for legal reasons just borrowed heavily from it.

your opinion is bad. 3rd gen was the best of the worst.

lets see, get some vland headlights, wrap the roof black, apr gtc 250 wing, carbon skrts, carbon front lip, im assuming it has a carbon diffuser or rearspats, and some sick tail lights, could get a varis front bumper or something i suppose. needs more low

Opinion was on Eclipse. You can not resurrect with some riced BRZ!

the retrofit source will make etched lenses like that by special request. #just-in-case

actually, now that im looking at it, the 17+ brz front bumper is strikingly similar to the '15 concept. the fog light area is pretty similar, you could carbon vinyl wrap the "mustache", put the sti emblem and red pinstripe on the lower grill.

actually the canadian ML24 version 2 BRZ widebody is the closest of all. its giant front lip and front fender pieces go onto a 13+ brz and meet to make a 17+ style look for the front end.

I wholeheartedly support this statement.

Weren't the 3rd and 4th gen Eclipses FWD?

About ten years ago I was shopping for a new used car. I was making calls to local shops and inquiring about maintenance schedules and repairs, and browsing used car lots. I wandered onto the local Chevy lot and started walking around when a smarmy salesman started tagging along and wouldn't leave me alone. Just so he'd go away, I finally told him I was looking for a used Japanese RWD coupe with leather upholstery and a manual gearbox. I figured if I over-specified something unrealistic he'd go away. But he got all excited and said he had just the thing, so I followed him to the other side of the lot where he showed me a 3rd-gen Mitsubishi Eclipse convertible with cloth upholstery and an automatic transmission. :(

They were all FWD with just the very top trims as AWD.

One of the best cars I ever owned contrary to their modern day rep.

As far as I can tell the only body parts on that car that are stock are the side markers and badge.

Has about the normal similarities from concept to production. Everything on the tS is close but not quite there.

The only good thing to come out of the 3rd gen was Dave Chappelle’s spoof of the commercial. The 2nd gen was the best of the worst, I mean just look at the booty on that car!

That looks awesome!

Here’s the RalliArt 4th gen Eclipse concept does the hell of it

This is the best Eclipse with the best body kit. The 86/ BRZ should follow suit.

Transplant the entire Evo X powertrain and AWD and I'd drive it.

I agree! The wife had a special, Final Edition model Plymouth Laser RS, AWD Turbo. This photo was taken in the fall of 1998 after just returning from the north Georgia mountains.

Yes! And the new 86/BRZ SUV should be 86 ft long x 8.6 ft tall. Every manufacturer should do away with their cars and replace them with vaguely inspired SUVs instead.

INGS front fenders will replicate the STI concept quite well if you don't want wider front fender from the ML24 kit.

Suparu 06-21-2020 07:52 AM

It turns out Duraflex made a 2012 STI concept ripoff kit.

It looks terrible.

All this talk about 1st, 3rd and 4th gens. THIS was the best looking DSM. Not mine, mine was a pristine 97 with no sunroof. Should have never sold it.

I agree about 2g being the best looking DSM. I had a red ‘99 Eclipse GS and I still love the way they look especially the GSX. The interior was similar to a MKIV Supra with its driver-centric styling.
