Interior Acessories?
Hello all,
Just wanted to ask for a few opinions and feedbacks. - the most popular interior accessories for this car? I'm guessing it is phone holders? - Are there any interior accessories/gadgets (or categories of them) that this car needs or needs to have a better selection of? - What is your favorite? What I mean by accessories/gadgets is anything you put inside the car that improves the quality of life for you including its aesthetics, and functionality. Stuff like phone holders, air fresheners, floor mats, shift knobs, to like trim pieces, race seats and headunits just as examples. All inclusive as long as it is interior related. Would like to know what you guys think. Just a curiosity topic. Thank you very much! |

That may depend upon the year of the car. For my 2013 FR-S the first thing I put in was an arm rest for my right arm. The second thing was an aftermarket radio head unit, so I could have GPS and SiriusXM. That's it. ;) humfrz |
My favorite "air freshener" are those hanging moisture absorber bags / odor eliminators, the unscented kind. Keeps the inside of the car feeling nice and dry when you get in, keeps windows from fogging while sitting. They collect a lot of water after a couple weeks in humid weather.

@kev0 Arm & Hammer moisture absorber bags. Or damprid brand, though most of those are heavily scented.

My interior accessories:
Items I have on hand but haven't yet deployed:
Additionally, my phone is an automotive/travel accessory itself with the following apps:
I installed Gas Buddy during the hurricane evacuation to find stations along the route that still had fuel, but I deleted it shortly after the crisis was over because it kept forcing popup notifications even after I blocked it. That spyware crap probably still has something running on my phone. I'm probably forgetting something. I'll add it later if I think of anything. |

If you don't have an armrest, get that first. Next thing I got was these rubber mats, the weathertech ones are just too big and too much rubber for Ca. These basic rubber mats are cheaper and they hold up much better than the oem cloth crap mats the car came with. I started wearing through my cloth mats near the throttle within 6 months, those rubber ones have held up since 2014.
Oh I also got this little plastic insert with the 86 logo to go in that strange vacant emblem spot below the shifter. It looks totally OEM if you ask me which is what I gravitate towards. |

As others have said:
Arm rest for sure. This is the one I have and prefer, and it's been great. I'd also add the Jetta trunk hook. I bought two of them and used a couple of self-tapping screws to attach them up underneath the package shelf in the back. Super handy for keeping your grocery bags from sliding all over the place, and the fold neatly out of sight when not in use. https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon....2XZsL._AC_.jpg |

I also just remembered that I have the OEM trunk mat and OEM Subaru sun shade for the windshield. I'm convinced the people who had issues with their dashes warping and steering wheels peeling suffered from heat or UVA from sunlight damaging the interior, and that sun shade has kept mine pristine. The trunk mat also helps keep things from sliding around (as much). |

It is a strange spot, those without heated seats need something to put there or else it is this very odd spot in the interior. I also got a high quality fitted sun visor, been using it every time it is parked in the sun which use to be a lot. My dash has rarely seen the sun while parked and I have a tad of issues with that rubber/plastic bit covering the dash. It is coming up, I think it is just from cheap glue and cab temps. (my old 80s 3 series had back cracking all along the dash from sun damage) so I was super careful about keeping it in the shade but still the rubber stuff came up a bit so it must be from over all temperatures in the cab causing the glue to let loose. Luckily now my FRS now is either in a covered parking lot at work or in my closed garage. I'm actually debating if I should remove my front bumper to replace my headlights (I have a almost new spare set) or just restore my current ones again. My headlights took the most beating from the sun and have gotten kind of cloudy. So far Im considering the lazy way and just restoring them while on the car, dont want to get that bumper sag from just replacing slightly cloudy headlights. |

For the people who don't have it, it is indeed quite awkward lol. |

I think a great accessory would be a tissue holder for every time a brz/FRS/86 owner loses a drag race
