Google says BMW

Mr.ac 12-14-2019 09:14 PM

Lol
100% any BMW.

I don't think it's really a BMW. Google says it is because that's a joke. The stalk is a common multifunction switch used in Toyotas, Suzukis and Hondas, but I can't find the actual vehicle.

Spuds 12-15-2019 01:46 AM

Hyundai Accent. At least it looks familiar...

Nope I'm wrong. Accents have it on the other side anyway. I'm dumb. At least I played fair lol

soundman98 12-15-2019 02:01 AM

it would need to be a japanese/eu model considering it's coming out of the column on the right hand side.

but it feels 90's toyota/honda to me.

NWFRS 12-15-2019 02:01 PM

Based on my experience-probably a Prius, PT Cruiser, or Kia Soul.

el-guapin 12-16-2019 10:36 AM

That looks like a RHD Nissan stalk.

Tcoat 12-16-2019 10:44 AM

That stalk is so standard it could quite literally belong to any one of several hundred cars built over the last 30 years.

Impureclient 12-16-2019 12:52 PM

^ That almost sounds like you are making a yo mama diss.

Yo stalk so standard it looks like it belongs to any one of several cars built over the last 30 years! Oh snap.

I don't know. Neither does anybody else beyond guessing. There just simply is not enough in the picture to make any form of educated call beyond "it is an 80s to 2000s RHD car".

weederr33 12-16-2019 01:50 PM

It's actually from a Lotus Elise

JD001 12-16-2019 01:54 PM

I think it's from something really slow due to the cobwebs.. can it be from a Twin?

No way that could be a BMW. It also controls flashing the high beams.

Leonardo 12-16-2019 02:12 PM

These small removable accessory switch panels are, IMO, the key to figuring out the make and model.

I feel like its an import form the early to mid 90's. But that's just a guess based on my gut feeling. :bonk:

I posted in the hope that either someone would recognize the dash and vent layout or would recognize the larger picture it was cropped from, since it has some odd graphics in it that might identify it. That switch is used on many cars, but the stalk itself differs from model to model. The only car I could find that uses that exact stalk is a Suzuki Liana, but that's not a Liana dash.

That's the argument I was involved with on Facebook. Some believe the arrows indicate toward and away for high beams, while others believe the arrows indicate right and left for turn signals. It was a stupid argument, yet it was apparently a scissor statement that caused the discussion to devolve into ridiculous insults and offensive behavior.

I was trying to find the actual car to put an end to the fighting, but at this point I'm so disgusted with humans in general I no longer really give a shit.

Inevitable conclusion.

Also sorry about. It's reminiscent of the stalk that was on my '96 Toyota Tercel, but to Tcoat's point, it is generic enough that it could be out of any one of dozens of cars. Although I suspect something Japanese.

Sorry mate, I should have used italics

My answer was going to be either BMW or the blinker stalk in my Mrs ASX.

I apologise for any confusion

No worries, pretty sure we were making the same joke. As in BMW drivers don't use turn signals (nor your Mrs. apparently), but they do enjoy flashing their high beams at everyone.

Early-mid 90s JDM (the REAL meaning of the term) Nissan with the gauges and a bunch of dash trim missing?

Usually happens anywhere by the 10th post. I just got into it tonight on a dog food forum.

Anyway, pretty sure that stalk came from some kind of Spider.

Impureclient 12-17-2019 02:05 AM

Don't get me started about the hot dog forums. After post 10, it is total pandemonium!

humfrz 12-17-2019 03:25 AM

He said "dog food forum" - NOT the "hot dog forum" - what the hell is wrong with you-ens tonight - :iono:

OR, is it ma med time? - :confused0068:

Look past the stalk at the dash layout. As I said before the stalk is too generic and option based to guess accurately. The vent and dash layout of the two are almost identical (from the little we can see). I did not state that that was the exact model but simply a possible range that could be it.

I doubt even YOU remember when there were no stalks at all. Unless of course you undid the clamp.
