Racing seats
Trying to figure out how much space I'll gain installing racing seats in an FR-S to do away with steering wheel rub on my left knee while braking? Any input from experience would be great. Thanks!

fixed seats or adjustable?

What do u think of this? http://www.nengun.com/bride/stradia-ii-japan-venus
Bride Stradia II Venus http://sphotos.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-...37573528_n.jpg http://image.nengun.com/catalogue/or...an_-_venus.png Very low profile should give a bit more room all round.... 13kg each...... |
almost $2g's for one flippin' seat. fawk!!! something cheaper perhaps? looks really nice though.
|
Hahaha dont be tight with ya money....... Its an 86.....

Can someone provide a website with US-Pricing and a "Buy Now" Option? You know, to get an idea.

Reclinable seats are for wankers. Jk but in all reality they are just as if not more bulky than the stock seats. Look into a fiberglass shell, recaro spg or pole position.
|
I'm thinking of upholstering my Sparco Evo to the stock look. I just have to get some seat rails. You should gain at least 3-4 inches of headroom with the seat and low seat rails.
|
Do you plan on using fashioning your original seats into house furniture? That's what i'm going to do.
..that was somewhat random.. |

^ I have a Gia's. It's basically the same thing. It's no big deal, fiberglassbuckt is more comfortable and safer.

Idk if that's right, but I can say the sides on the legs come up relatively high. You can also swap out for the thinner non incline ass pad which will seat you lower. You can even just run no ass pad and the sided pretty much are way past your thigh. It's surprisingly not uncomfortable with no pad.
|
Im pretty sure thats the only difference between Stradia and Gias seats.... Gias sides r more low profile..... I would probably get Gias CF.... Safer having higher raised sides....
|
Im running Ring GT-X and love them so far, its a fixed back seat but gives you a better position plus the stock seats move too much around the corners which makes you slower since you loose confidence on the grip the car has.
Here is a shitty iphone pic ill post some more up later, still need to install the second seat. http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b3...z/1b672b77.jpg http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b3...z/75f61e4b.jpg |

i would avoid any seat not FIA approved
i would avoid a fixed back seat in a car with no rollbar and a 5 point. but do what you will. |

I'm hoping there's a way to keep the airbags enabled. I believe if the airbag light is on, then none of the airbags will deploy if you get in an accident. |

I really, really need to gain about 3 inches of headroom to fit comfortably with a helmet. :(

If you've got serious coin to spend on seats the racetech seats from NZ and available in USA and Europe get my vote. Just awesome and the company is owned by my next door neighbour. Serious coin but have all the approvals and look great.

There is also a prettier one out there that just connects, but I can't remember where I saw it. Thanks again for the Info on the seats, just ordered a GT-X in red Ultra Suede. |
