Where is the OBD port?!?! WORST. DESIGN. EVER.

LOL.

I could not find it.

Every car I've ever owned has OBD on the left side, near the door.
I had to find it on the right side.

After plugging it while sitting in the drivers seat,
instead of kneeling outside the door,
I decided BEST. DESIGN. EVER.

I use VeePeak OBD for $11

Not up to your usual thread quality. Have a few more drinks and try again later.

Burning question, can you see your OBD port without removing your wheels?

beltax90 11-28-2019 04:56 PM

Why would I not? What do you use? I use it for my one of my other cars

I usually set up a laptop with the software. But BRZ is so me I don't expect codes for many years.

Well my windows are tinted therefore I'm a ricer so I probably use a ricer computer to calculate everything.

What does this do that a generic OBD2 reader can't ?
Does it read Subaru specific codes ?

soundman98 11-28-2019 11:00 PM

it has a display that fits in the cubby next to the push start.

Older cars are not your thing? OBD is a fairly recent addition.

Probably about 18 years old so any car with a port is "older" to him. Ones without must seem like antiques.

apparently some cars have it up near the gauges, or in the glove box!
