HPDE Day video
Just a small vid I put together of my Boy running the track. I'm on Flag stand duty, which happens to be the best view of the track.
He runs a turbo tC 311whp/285wtq @ 8.8lbs of boost http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HMc_vgAKGK0 Here's the most recent shot of my tC too at the track (I didn't run though, need new wheel bearings) http://i119.photobucket.com/albums/o...528_143402.jpg http://i119.photobucket.com/albums/o...e/DSC04938.jpg http://i119.photobucket.com/albums/o...e/DSC04939.jpg http://i119.photobucket.com/albums/o...e/DSC04940.jpg http://i119.photobucket.com/albums/o...528_182434.jpg Coming in the Mail tomorrow: http://i119.photobucket.com/albums/o...e/CIMG5631.jpg |
what's coming? what's coming? New turbo setup?
|
What happened after he passed the vette? It looked like he hit the dirt or something...

TiAl stainless exhaust housing?
|
Yes sir 100% V-banded. From the manifold to the turbine, from the turbine all the way out the back...

Good that you finally got some trickle down sponsorship! |

Dragon, what transmission and rear diff are the drift tC's using?
I'm thinking of a 2AZ into my other (N/A 7M) Supra as a long-term experiment. May be cheaper and way better handling than another JZ motor. |

Fredric Aasbo, not sure. For Ken Gushi's tC, he's uing the 240sx rear diff. But he exploded the diff at Road Atlanta so they are thinking of moving over to the Supra rear diff. I forget his tranny though, I'll have to ask him. I'll hit him up on FB and then I'll get back to you. |

Camry-powered Supra... I'm not going to make to many Supra fans happy. It may be a while coming, but that should take off a couple hundred pounds off the front end of the car. |
Ahhhhh I'm jealous.

The JGTC Supra's use the 3sgte for the weight and motor position, so it would be an interesting thing to see.. |
So, I was bored last night and did a little mock up with the WGs mounted.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_2B_7SRIlMo Pretty healthy though, what's limiting you from going higher? The turbo or the block? |
I'm waiting to see that sweet toy under the hood~~~! Stop teasing us, Dragon. Show us!!! LOL

Yeah Dog box trans engagement. It will be helical cut gears though instead of straight cut since they are trying to cater it towards a more street friendly use. If it was a straight cut dog box transmission then it would sound like this: Straight Cut Gears http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dmJH84FnQa8 As for the sound of the car itself, here is exactly how it will sound..as it's the same setup that PTuning runs on their Time Attack car, except PTuning is running a GT35R: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-ryI95p9kVo As for the power...the motor is currently stock, and will hold a max of 400whp before needing to upgrade the internals. I will push 350whp till it's motor building time. Should be around 350whp/340-350wtq. The turbo itself is rated for 550whp (depending on dyno). If I should happen to want anything over 550whp then I would just need to swap turbos and of course have a built motor. So, 350 it is for now, that's 350whp on PTunings dyno that is. On other dynos like a DynoJet, then it's more like 370whp. Even if I don't do 350, 300whp would still be blazing around the race track. But my boy is running 311whp on PTuning's dyno with the same turbo at 9lbs of boost, and I'll be running 11-11.5lbs so it should be real close to 350whp. 350whp + 2550lbs = one pissed off Scion :) |

Working on it..:) Couple more things and then I'll start dropping everything in. |

FMIC Mock up. Car is a little dirty...

I'm a bit of a noob when it comes to turbo setups as most of the vehicles I've had an opportunity to poke around under the hood with have either been NA or supercharged. Does the tube coming off the waste gate connect back in with the rest of the exhaust after the turbo or just dump the gas into the atmosphere?

You can do both. I prefer to vent to atm though, as it sounds like a Demon! People want to move out of the way when you here open gates coming toward you. But some prefer the quietness and want the sound of the turbo more pronounced, so they plumb it back into the exhaust. The downside to plumbing back in though is that you potentially lose HP. In some cases I've read up to 40hp re-routing back into the exhaust stream. That's a worst case scenario though, you might only lose a few hp. |
gotcha. Thanks for the info!
|
New exhaust gasket, PTuning vac block and some spark plugs are on the way.
|
Dropping some stuff in today.
|
nice. You gonna post a vid of this thing on the dyno?

Oh for sure. I'm going to sneak away tonight while the fam's asleep...lol. See if I can't get the Intercooler pipes on. Last night I managed to get all the stock stuff removed (including exhaust), manifold and turbo mounted, radiator and a/c condenser slim fans installed. Tonight I'll try and -get fans wired -fmic + pipes mounted -Downpipe mounted Good bit of work to do. I have to extend my front O2 sensor, so that has to be wired up and crimped to reach the Downpipe. |
