Thoughts on this.

I was messing around with some painters tape when I was dipping my emblems, and since I REALLY wanted a Challenger and had seen some with the fender stripes, I decided to lay some tape down. What do you guys think of this but in red? Good, bad, tacky???

Personal opinion... Please don't

EvoFanatic 08-01-2012 03:10 PM

cool butt it needs more of an angle. and I would do something like put a frs on one of the stripes so its not so challanger-ish.

PMok 08-01-2012 04:02 PM

not feeling it but don't be afraid to try stuff, see what looks good to you. maybe try the other way, like // instead of \\ ? Also how about something more subdued, like stripes just on the fender garnish piece (in front of where the 86 is)

enjoi23 08-01-2012 04:04 PM

If it had more of an exotic body kit on it, maybe. But at the end if the day its your frs.do as you like

OrbitalEllipses 08-01-2012 04:38 PM

My thought is you should get that dust off the car.

Guff 08-01-2012 04:40 PM

IMO, tacky...

mechaghost 08-01-2012 04:54 PM

it destroys the lines of the car. try making it flow the other direction.

SkAsphalt 08-01-2012 05:23 PM

I don't see dust, I see the metallic fleck in the paint shinning. :D

Don't do it!

Xenocide117 08-02-2012 01:35 PM

I want to do some in red just so there was something subtle on the outside that lent itself to all the red on the inside. No reason not to try it they are vinyl so if they don't look good just get rid of them. No one on the forum is driving your car but you.

Also post pictures.

I washed it after so there was no dust.

Hey buddy, if you're really interested in this, there are some strips you can buy or look at for inspiration here

Ayaz2589 08-02-2012 02:47 PM

please take that off.....

SkAsphalt 08-02-2012 03:41 PM

It actually looks kind of fun, and it is your car.

I am sure I will find some way to incorporate colour into my FR-s. I love to have a colour contrast and stand out and with my Asphalt car I am looking into the bright greens, oranges. Or like a metallic red (like people have with tow hooks, but I doubt I will get a tow hook unless I actually track it or drive it in winter...that would be useful in winter haha)

Kuzuri 08-02-2012 10:35 PM

is that a Corvette?

no.

StevenEngage 08-02-2012 11:19 PM

They sell red plastidip and a gloss overspray, peel it off if its a no go, its yours so mess with it until you like something.

I personally wouldn't do it but at the same time its not the worst thing I've seen

Mr. Mcoupe 08-02-2012 11:24 PM

I am looking and looking at I don't get it.

MiguelAE86 08-02-2012 11:28 PM

Maybe in FLAT BLACK it'll look stealth, and very subtle. Just perfect, actually.

Mr. Mcoupe 08-02-2012 11:36 PM

Ok, I finally got it.

Coolness.

I feel like the fender is too short to do that to it.. But at the end of the day.. its YOUR car.. so if you think it looks hot.. then by all means do it!!

enjoi23 08-03-2012 12:01 AM

the more I look at it, the more I am accepting of it.

I was actually thinking red or flat black or even like a gun metal gray. Only color I have right now to test it is the black plastidip?..I'll give it some more thought, even though it will be plastidip though

track_warrior 08-03-2012 01:59 AM

Nobody is going to ask wtf are you doing with a light weight underpowered japanese car made for corners if you wanted a challenger? Way different cars you know and price is no excuse since you could have picked up a challenger for cheaper than an fr-s.
