I like the Enkei TS5, been looking at maybe getting some new wheels in the next couple months and those are one of the options on my list. Basically just looking for a 5 or 6 spoke 17x8 wheel but I'm undecided on color/finish.

HaXx 02-12-2019 07:37 PM

i love me some 10 spokes! But Weds are way more rim than i need or would utilize. i just pulled the trigger on getting TS10 rims today. ever since subaru but the bbs 10 spokes on the sti in the early 200's i have been googlie eyed for them.

I'm looking at purchasing the Enkei TS5 in 17x8 +45 in matt bronze for my stock suspension red 86.

Does anyone know how these will fit?

I know that they will be 16mm short of being flush on the front but that's fine with me. If anyone knows if there will be any issues with brake clearance or rubbing that would be much appreciated.

Thanks

There will be absolutely zero issues with that wheel size it is a pretty conservative size. Go for it.

I'm with you man

I'm with You man. It would be nice to get some data about concavity, althou i got a funny feeling that for 17x8 it would be pretty moderate-to-zero.

Maybe there will be a thread in commecrials regarding real-life pics about them.

Cheers

Thanks for your response - I've just put down an order for these and it will take around 2 months to arrive. I'll post some pics when I get them for anyone else who is considering these.

Just had my stock HP Primacys mounted on black 17x8 TS-5. The spokes come out to flush with the rim, but do not go past. They are concave, but not by much. I am in Minnesota, so waiting until late April to put them on the car.

Wheels look great, Primacy tires look too skinny

I'm so sad that these in 18's don't fit our PP brakes according to Tire Rack :( Hopefully someone becomes a mule and verifies it. It was either these or 57CR's as the only reasonably priced 5 spoke design for me.

Xerophthalmic 04-19-2019 03:01 AM

Just get these and go with 245/40r17 tires

Spokes are too narrow for my liking and the extra 5x114 holes make it look funny or odd to me. Guess 57CR's are the way. More concavity too so that's a plus.

Speaking of new wheels...

Speedwell will be launching their RS-1 Fully Forged wheel in the next few weeks. These will feature spoke cutouts that are machined all the way through the spoke, and they will be made specifically for the FRS/BRZ/86 platform. I can't contain my excitement for these wheels! We will be the first to get these wheels and I can't wait to share pictures with everyone else!

Just bought the T6S in 18x8 +45 and only had .7mm clearance (way too little for heat expansion) factory clearance was 2.5mm.

Added on a 5mm spacer and they look pretty damn good.

Did they have any issues clearing the bbk?

TS6

Any weights on the TS5's? Look like a good replacement for the RPF1 if they're not too heavy, less than half the spokes to clean!

They are part of the "Tuning" series which are more about show than go so don't expect them to be particularly lightweight. I'd expect 20-22lbs per wheel.

What size are those rims?

eMCee 09-22-2019 10:29 AM

Hey there team,

So after a few months of waiting my WedsSports TC105X arrived.
They are 18x8 +45.
Test fit on a stock suspension looks promising.
Now just the new tires installation (AD08 RS in 225/40) and I guess it'll be time to think about the suspension and brakes update next season

Wow those look sick. Do you plan on keeping the suspension stock? I think 225/40 on an 18 would look pretty solid. Look forward to seeing them mounted

Hey,
Thanks for the like.
I have to see how does the whole package (tire+wheel) will look like, and then decide.
I need to be at moderate suspension height since the car is used a whole year + german nazi car modifications rules.
Most probably minor lowering should be enough, or i can get away with just a proper alignment like -1 or 2 deg of neg camber.

I mean 18s on that tire size look just fine on stock suspension. RCE offers springs with a moderate (0.8 inch) drop if you end up wanting to lower it a bit.

Has anyone on coilovers tried the TC105X 18x9.5 +45? I'm really interested in them, but afraid they might rub somewhere with that high of an offset. I once had a set of RPF1 17x9 +45 and they rubbed the tie rod at full lock. Seems like the same problem could happen with these.

It will fit just fine there are many threads with that fitment. With coilovers 17x9 should not rub in the front. http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=60405

Great choice. They look very nice.
I Have been searching for some other pictures from different angles. Do you have some additional images that you do not mind to share?

I wish I could see these on a WRB color BRZ

Thanks
