About Toyota gt86 audio

Hi

My idea will be to get, subwoofer, 3 way system, dynamat or similar and 2din radio.

This i think will be a good items.

Subwoofer jl-audio stealthbox (250rms amplified recomended)
Pioneer AVH-Z9100DAB (anti-theft very important)
Focal 3 way 165as3 (3 way very important)
Alpine MRV-F300 (50rms 4ohms for 3way system and bridged 250rms 2ohms for jl-audio)

I prefer an expensive radio with anti-theft than any alpine or other radios without anti-theft with car alarm.

What do you think?

Thanks

Kind regards

Have you heard the OEM Audio Plus setup? (In an 86/BRZ/ FRS)

It uses the factory HU so thieves won't even know you have something to steal. (And it sounds great)

That's a good set up. That would sound great.

Unfortunately no amount of anti theft system would keep someone from taking it.

The best thing to do is to make sure lock doors, windows every time. Park where it's highly visible, and not leave anything out in plain sight or become a target of opportunity.

Personally, I don't recommend a 2din radio. 1din basic-looking radio's look cheap and tend to be less attractive for thefts.

Hi

But this Pioneer have anti-theft cover. And i want Android auto and WiFi.

I always had in my cars 1din high-end, like blaupunkt Bremen or clarion.

Kind regards

Hi all

I have a question.

I think that the sub have a lot power for this gt chest, if you dont put dynamat the panels will have a lot vibrations, i dont want to put a lot kg but i like the sound with sub.

What do you think if i only upgrade with 3 good way system like focal ps165f3 with my amplifier alpine.

Actually my old car have 2 way system dls + sub dls 12" 150rms. I will feel a lot difference?

Thanks and sorry for my english

i haven't been able to get really good bass out of the door drivers. they lack the aperiodic vents that other door panels have that have good bass response. there's a presence of bass, but not much response below 80hz.

my ranger, which has spectacular door bass response(and aperiodic venting), i still miss having a subwoofer. the speakers are fed a fullrange signal, and hit somewhere near 50hz, but still lack the impact that a sub offers.

You'll never have enough power, but 150 watts is just enough.

One trick to keep the panels from rattling is to use a flexible sealant on the fasteners. It's time consuming but it's the only way to make things stop rattling

It's not 100% fix you will need some type of dynamat.

The 3 way system are always meant to be used with a sub. You'll still get the mid bass punch, but you'll realize a sub is really the only way to get the full sound stage.

Ok thanks very much. So the jl audio sub have so much RMS? I think that will get the stealthbox of jl. My problem is if the car chest need dynamat will be more weight. But if dont put dynamat, the car chest will be vibrations. :(

The JL sub is good. No need to worry about that.
I would get a bass level controller, either an inline one or a amplifier with one.

I would not worry about extra weight. In fact road noise and overall comfort will improve your car.

Worry about finding rattles after you put the sub in.
Sometimes all that rattles is just one panels and a quick fix.

Im reading about the oem plus system. My question is, i think that this audio system good, but if you put the items that i want, do you think will be better than oem?

Jl-audio have very good subwoofer and focal have very good mid-high frecuences.

Im going crazy, i dont know who to get.

The 8" sub's raw output is strong, but it's not an SPL monster. (Very few 8's are) But what impresses me most about it is how seamlessly it blends with the rest of the system. The O+ system uses quality components, but I really feel like it's the signal processing that makes the system shine. All the music is there, from highs to lows and everything in between with no annoying spikes or dips in the response curve.

My wife and I have two FR-S's. When I told her I wanted to spend a large amount of money on an O+ system, she said something like "I think the (stock) radio sounds fine, but if it makes you happy..." The day I installed the O+ system, I asked her to come out and listen to it. She played a couple of her favorite Elvis songs....and ordered *her* O+ system the next day!

She's not in to sound systems or electronic gadgets, but we all love our music, and the O+ system really takes you there.

I ordered the pack. Although until May I will probably not have the car, I'm sure it will exceed my expectations or it is I hope hehe.
