While I'm always down for a drive, especially with fellow 86'ers, I will unfortunately have to miss it since I'll be out of the country.

However, I live 10 minutes from this route and I can tell you Encinal is still closed due to the damage sustained by the Woolsey fire, as is Mulholland to the beach. The 23/Decker canyon is open, but it is very slippery due to the dirt washed on to the road from rain immediately after the fire. It'll be much better by next week, but please be careful everyone. There are construction teams everywhere and the now lack of scenery is...distracting.

where exactly in Whittier Narrow Recreation Area do we meet? parking lot off of Santa Anita or Rosemead BLVD?

Near Miss Cruise?
 

We decided to pass on the freeway part of this ride, with its relatively low fun to ticket risk ratio, opting instead to drive up from the Ventura County coast to meet the group at the Lynn Road offramp. With the last minute route change, of course, we failed to connect. It was still fun to zip up and down the twisty tricky curves of Potrero Road, even if it was a solo drive. If you folks plan to return to our part of the world, ping me and I can suggest much more interesting (i.e., non-freeway) venues.

There was a last minute change of route due to mudslides blocking PCH. I should of been active on the forum during the cruise, so I apologize for the lack of communication/updates.

for February's cruise, we will most likely be going to Bouquet/San Francisquito Canyon Canyon Rd and Lake Hughes Rd.

What will change starting this February
1. I will be active/sending updates in this forum page on the days of the cruises
2. We will have checkpoints where we can gather, let those who are left behind catch up without pressure, and get some group pics

February 2019 - Lake Elizabeth Cruise UPDATED
 

UPDATE: February's cruise will be postponed to March due to the possibility of mudslides, unsafe canyon roads, and perhaps rain too.

Unsurprising, though still disappointing.

Disappointing to hear this sunday is off but ill join yall soon.

I am driving down from SF to Ventura this weekend as i prepare to move back to socal. Thought id check the meetups here as the ones in the bay do not happen near the peninsula.

Glad to see the meet ups are on the canyon roads between ventura and santa monica.

This is the route you guys do every first sunday?

We do different locations/meet up locations/routes every month. This cruise was going to take place in February, but got postponed due to the weather

Might postpone the cruise. Will keep you guys updated

Just got my 86 about 6 months ago and didn't realize you guys had this going on. I'll be busy tomorrow, but hopefully will join you next month.

Also, I won't be too active on the forums during the cruises starting this cruise. If there is any change to the meet up spots (before or during the cruises), I'll update the forum page. It's best to meet up at the meet up spots since we sometimes go a bit off the advertised cruise route

Haven’t been posting on the forum lately, but the cruises have been going on. Last one was in June: Canyon to PCH.

No update yet: we don’t know if we will take a brake for July or be hitting Glendora Mountain Rd for July’s Cruise
