Lol dammit toyota. I have no confidence they will ever release another pure gas sports car after the new Supra.

More like, dammit Toyota, I have no confidence that they will ever make their OWN sports car again.

But on topic, I really love this color! I've only seen this color once in my life in person, and it's a beauty to look at!

Toyota's OWN sports cars seem to be leaning towards the grand touring side of things and are part of the more expensive Lexus lineup, which is a shame. They know sports cars but lower cost Toyota branded models seem to all be partnership cars with non Toyota pieces.

On topic:
I think I woulda rocked the moonslate grey if we had that option in Canada (didn't seem to be available in Canada).

What sucks is that all the dealers tend to just gravitate towards having white and black in their showrooms which sucks.....

cyde01 11-19-2018 05:51 PM

It's really a fantastic color. I get compliments all the time, gawkers in parking lots, thumbs up as i drive by.

TooSlow 11-22-2018 02:27 AM

It would be cool to see the Thunder and the new series.gray 2019 BRZ next to each other to compare and contrast the color throughout the day. I like both grays a lot.

The Thunder Gray is SO much better than Cool Gray Khaki (aka Series.Gray aka Series.BabyBlue) in my opinion. It looks great in every light, rather than the CGK which looks gray in very few lights.

monkeybike 11-23-2018 12:41 AM

Series.Gray is more of a baby blue than a grey.

cool grey khaki is like a sandy/tan/grey/beige/green combo color that is found on the FRS Release 2.0 and impreza.

Not the same as the series.grey.

Series.Gray is 100% Cool Gray Khaki. Maybe it’s different in Canada, but it is CGK in the US.

haha no worries! It's a shame they only brought Desert Khaki to the FR-S, that would have been a great BRZ color too!

My wife even wishes we could have got our 2nd Gen Crosstrek in Desert Khaki

Interesting. Looks more like a baby blue to my eyes as well.

July 11-24-2018 09:53 AM

All the pics are so amazing!

TooSlow 11-24-2018 04:34 PM

On Raiti's Rides video:

[ame]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vP7vyNSDzKg[/ame]

It looks more gray outdoors, but indoor artificial lights does make it look baby blue.

Vr4gasmtt 11-24-2018 08:17 PM

This is the Thunder/Moonslate thread why is everyone posting the series gray brz color ? They are not the same gray.

He's sweeping the small plaza there, one handle is for the broom, one is for the dustpan. He maintains the shrine. You see it a lot in Japan.

spike021 11-27-2018 03:04 AM

So uh...

Heh.

Any idea if the gurney flaps are functional? Kinda doubtful but doesn't hurt to ask.

Probably, it's a spoiler not a "real" wing. The Gurney would "spoil" the air more aggressively but there might be a small drag penalty I imagine.

Over simplification here but I implore anyone with more knowledge to chime in.

I love this kit and those flaps. I've been following it since it came out. Looking to make my own flaps. I have a Nylon SLS printer at work begging to be used for this....

It is. Just the lighting.

JDM base model G-grade.

Vr4gasmtt 11-27-2018 11:03 PM

How rare is the thunder/moonslate color?

monkeybike 11-28-2018 12:01 AM

The RHD ones were sprayed from October 2017 to February 2018.
Not sure if LHD were at the same time or separate.
