Subaru/Toyota Coupe spotted in Socal with Subaru Plates
My coworker's friend spotted this on a socal freeway. It's the Subaru/Toyota coupe for sure. What's interesting is that it wears the same plate as the subaru mule spotted in socal a while back.

hmmm interesting
|
Looks like we saw on the nur ring any more maybe the front
|
If I saw that in my area, I would not stop following that car.
Dead serious. I'd probably get in trouble too, but I don't care lol |
hot damn!!!!!! imma keep my eyes pealed when i'm on the fwy!!!!
|
Now, was that TRDLiquidSilver at the helm of that tester? It seems that Toyota/Subaru are testing two cars in both the ring and SoCal.....
Edit: and just notice this now, is that a white Caymen just in front of that Ford pickup truck? A highway performance comparison between Caymen and FT-86???? |

Call the So Cal auto spy photo anonymous organization! There has to be more where this came from! |
Interesting indeed...
Can someone confirm this isn't bogus? I'm being skeptical....its what I do sometimes. If it is true, this car is super close to production ready. Liquidsilver wasn't kidding. |
I still think it has the same rear fender curves as the FR-S. You can kind of see it.
|
THEY'RE COMING. FR-S' are popping up everywhere, this is insane!
|
Looks like the 405. O_O
|
Other than a funky sat nav, no spoiler, and no fog light (where the "diffuser" is) can any one else spot any differences than the other prototypes?
|
170 fwy maybe?
Oooh, I would've tailed it to no end, then sneak interior pics while they're at the gas station of restaurant =) I love it without the rear spoiler. Looks almost italian. |
**big grin**
:happyanim: Good news seeing it in the US. You know what it means? Its either the Scion version or the Subaru . . . |
Woohoo! Almost here people! LOL
Does this mean the US will get the exact same version as in europe and in Japan? |

|
Why did you say with Subaru plates?
|
Look at the second picture. It has the same plates as the mix and match first test mule

i woulda jizzed my pants and got in a reck if i seen that on the road. what city/freeway was that on?
|
I have to keep my eyes peeled now. For some reason, these test drivers like to drive down pch. The other day I saw benz in camo eating at holy mole. The other month was a Land Rover in camo.

we need to put FT86club on the pic before autoblog and other auto magazine takes own of it
|
It's likely the 405. Toyota HQ in Torrance and TRD/Toyota Regional Office/Technical Center in Irvine, both are off the 405. Time to do some snooping around w corp. sources, hahaha.

Edit: Well, I didn't get what WoW originally meant by his post with the attached photo on the previous page because I didn't stare at it long enough... I get it now. If we ever meet in person, remind me to punch you please. |
Dammit, How am I supposed to sleep tonight?
|
gotta say im surprised that its the same car as the one that we saw in germany. after seeing the differences in concept models i expected there to be 2 distinct (US vs EUR) versions. that or this is still just testing the very basic characteristics of the body before finalizing the design.
does anyone know toyo's usual MO for these kind of things? i gotta be on the look out in case it drives by o_o also, note how there is no spoiler whatsoever on this one, not even the little one. |
