What is this plaque in my car?
1 Attachment(s)
Hi, I have a 2013 Scion FRS.
Inside my car right below my gear shift I have this metal plate. It has the FRS 86 emblem and the numbers 001 on it. I have tried searching for months on information for what this actually is. Can any of you all help me out here? Attached the picture to show you all what it looks like. Thanks! |
@Dadhawk is that the first owners club plaque?
|
Yospeed used to make custom center console plaques. you could design them any way you want. I believe that's what that is.

PO was MI6 with a License to Kill.
You have to be at least 005 to get assigned an Aston Martin. |

Well it's a aftermarket cosmetic plate that covers up the blank spot where the oem seat warmers switches would have been.
I assume the 001 was just a limited run bach made. Sorry nothing fancy or unique about it |

I bought a standard 86 plaque from them back when they still made them.

Actually, I do have a question that's relevant. I know there have been other threads about that space. Was it ever decided/discovered what the space is for? I've noticed that when I put a bubble level in there, it is level when the car is on level ground. Is that supposed to be the level standard or is it just a coincidence?I can't search because my phone doesn't let me search. |

I think it was just put there for the heated seat controls.

They made a space there so people could sell random shit to fill the space with. Then someone at Subaru/Toyota later realized they could fill the space with seat heating controls so they did that, and made sure that other people still had some space around the buttons to fill with random shit. |
Everybody has got it all wrong. That space is where the ash tray was installed in the earlier models. Most people don't smoke in the cars these days so they blocked it off.
Here's one being used in the Queefi model that came before the Zenki model: https://cdn.acidcow.com/content/img/new02/57/07.jpg |
I initially read the thread title as "What is this plague in my car?"
Thankfully the thread wasn't quite what I expected. |

the long one is in the glovebox as you open it. |
I thought that was where you put the ketchup for your fries.
(Or gravy, for you Canadians.) |
It is where you mix your wasabi and soy sauce for gas station sushi.
|
Looks like the old FRSx86 logo that was the lifestyle brand that eventually became Autotuned (a shop in SoCal). It's a Yospeed plaque though like others have said so maybe they did a collab or someone just really liked the logo.

So, where do you keep the pickled ginger? And, always remember when picking up gas station sushi make sure you also pick up a box of wine so you can make it a special evening with the little Mrs. |

It's a sump where elbow grease collects when resting one's elbow...
|
I believe it could be one of the first FRS' that were built or touched by autotuned in SoCal.
I have attached an image to show the resemblence! https://scontent-sjc3-1.cdninstagram...52346178_n.jpg |
OP, your car doesn’t happen to be dark blue does it?
