This wheel model is on the TRD Griffon 86 when it isn't wearing Volks TE37SL:
[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-mIdkWrPODY"]86 TRD GRIFFON CONCEPT in Š‚‚‰‚ƒ‚*ƒƒƒˆ - YouTube[/ame] The TWS T66-F fits pretty flush into its widebody fenders so I imagine the sizing specs are different than what's posted in this thread. They also appear briefly in TRD's latest official vid of the Griffon 86: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y18bo5IYE50#t=4m45s |
14.75 lbs for 18x8 is very impressive!!

I guess offset +45 saved few pound compared to lower offset. |

These are around $680-700 per wheel. Rightfully so when an 18x9.5 wheel is around 15lbs.

Pretty sure they sourced a set for someone in Europe too. Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk 2 |
Note that mine are not the size at the top of this thread.
They are 18x8.5 +43 front (6.8kg) and 18x9.0 +45 rear (7.1kg). I have 245/35 and 255/35 Pilot Super Sports and I am still lighter than stock. |
These are light no doubt. I believe they used a special new aluminum alloy and the spokes have dimples like the 57 Extreme. Was considering these versus the Prodrives (both are made in the same factory) but I opted for the "heavier" Prodrives because the T-66F's style left me wanting...

Anyone know the exact sizing for ones that TRD griffon is using? I'm guesing 18x8.5 to fit TRD brake calipers since TWS site shows that this size is used for 86 with performance brakes. Would be grateful if anyone knows this. Thanks!

18x 9.0J 5/100 +44 Φ56.1 or maybe 18x 9.5J 5/100 +45 Φ56.1 |

Assuming TRD kept identical dimensions to maintain tuning, they'd have to run 18inch 9.5J+45 TWS wheels. Consider that these are fitted with widebody extended front fenders. |

TWS T66F Monoblock forged wheel
Design notes:
- 1 piece forged wheel (Only 3 manufacturers in the world have this capability) - Dimples for maximum weight reduction without compromising strength - Knurled bead seats to prevent tire slip - 14.56 lbs (14 lbs 9.0 oz) for a 18x8 wheel! :eyebulge: http://counterspacegarage.com/wp-blo...14/05/Pic1.jpg http://counterspacegarage.com/wp-blo...14/05/Pic3.jpg http://counterspacegarage.com/wp-blo...14/05/Pic2.jpg http://counterspacegarage.com/wp-blo...14/05/Pic4.jpg http://counterspacegarage.com/wp-blo...14/05/Pic5.jpg http://counterspacegarage.com/wp-blo.../05/Weight.jpg Group buy link: http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=63389 |

LEGIT

a lot of companies, big name and small ones, that claim forged wheels are usually forged faces with cast barrels (or was it the other way around? i forgot). true one piece forged wheels are rare and expensive.
|
Basically 14.5lbs for 18x8? Jesus...
|
Wow.

Me, I put beautiful, lightweight, super strong wheels before tail lights, leds, fake carbon fibre and other such things. They'll easily last as long as I keep the car and being top quality will retain a lot of resale value if you choose to flick them. I won't though. I'm a "Do it once, do it right" kind of person. |

Note that those "forged" wheels are typically 2 or 3 piece wheels, so that they can accommodate more designs and cars, and can do "custom offsets" by just using a different barrel. |
I'm still shocked at the 14lbs!
Very impressive to say the least Nick C. |
